But engineered bases can build defenses to account for match making changes that hurt engineering. One of the complaints from some of the veteran players who had already played a long time before wars came out is they cannot now change their base to make it engineered, but engineers can change their base to make it more balanced.Quote:

Yes and many have. I have some mini accounts that I'm upgrading with war in mind. That doesn't solve the problem on the main account, though. When deciding whether to build or upgrade something on my main account, why should I have to choose between what is good for war and what is good for multiplayer? There are two aspects to the game and it would make more sense if they were consistent. There still would be an upgrade path that creates an "advantage" over those who don't upgrade intelligently, but that path should work for both parts of the game, in my opinion. I have clan mates right now trying to decide whether to build the eagle, knowing it will help them defend in multiplayer but hurt their war weight in war. Maybe that makes sense to you to have the game designed that way, but it doesn't to me. As far as mini accounts go, what you are suggesting is you like a system that discourages 3 and 4 year old accounts from taking part in war and instead encourages 1 year old accounts as better than those veteran accounts. Again, maybe that makes sense to you, but it doesn't to me.Quote:

I can only imagine how a newish player feels when they run across their first engineered clan. Definitely those that don't under stand weight in the slightest bit.

I have always enjoyed the war aspect of the game and never grasped the idea of trophy pushing. Honestly, trophy pushing was too frustrating for me. I would lose 30 trophies on defense but only win 6 trophies on offense.
I started on the maxing everything before going to the next TH level....but got tired of the farming grind near the end of TH 9 for one account and at the end of TH 8 for my sons account.
All 5 of my accounts now are rushed so they can participate in wars.
I farm with Goblins in Bronze-Gold leagues when i need resources to upgrade stuff.

Maxing all your D first is a type of engineering. D gets way above that person's attacking strength & they are using that D to give them an edge. I think some who upgrade that way think of it as the right way & can't see past that. Yes, you can't undo your upgrades & it does suck that no one taught you first. Maxing all D first was the way I was taught. I don't agree with it now.
When bases are 2 steps or more of offense to D, that's what I'd like to see fixed, especially when the O is th11. So 9.11, 8.11 all the way to a defenseless 40/40/20. Many of the people who try to engineer now do it because they are bad enough attackers that they need more O to try to 3 a base. Those folks don't bother me. It's the great attackers who have mini's that can do real damage but pull lower weights that need to start pulling their offensive weight instead of D weight. In my experience, those war killers are mostly th11 offense.
