In my opinion, "engineers" are playing this game correctly. Upgrade troops to be able to get to the highest TH available, currently TH 11, as quick as possible and then start maxing everything when you reach the highest TH level (end game).
And then when SC adds a new TH level....upgrade your troops to be able to attack at that TH level and then max your defenses.
Attacking is actively playing the game...defending is passively watching the game.
There is a huge difference than engineers and 0.5 base. Yes I would say 0.5 your base is the correct way to play if you want to war. What I consider exploitation of the system is when a clan specifically engineers their multiple and main accounts that do not follow the 0.5 pattern. For example a person can be a th10 with very little defences, but has max traps, max bombs, and high heroes, They don't even unlock major DE troops like golum, they stick with lets say max drags for instance. So this th10 will most likey face a begginer th8 or possibly a th7 base. Meanwhile they sit at the bottom and can easilly 3 star their mirror bases and some bases above them. That being said the victim is the mirror their facing. There is no possible way that th7 or th8 base can possibly 3 star their th10 engineered base most likely a 2 star with all the extra walls, traps CC troop space, etc..
Do this for the entire clan and you get a lopsided match up.
All I can say it is getting out of hand as a lvl 9 clan we are constantly meeting engineered bases. We try to follow suggestions to avoid engineered bases such as making our wars th8 to th11 or th9 to th11 . But we still face them. Luckily for us we are not so serious about wars but it gets annoying when you face 3 engineered clans in a row and just tell everybody for their war plan to attack any base and get 1 star for xp points and forget about winning.
I am not sure why SC lets this engineering phenomenon continue. They stopped th sniping/shield without a problem and I felt it was not a huge issue. People developed into farmers or warriors. why don't they develop a plan to stop this type of exploitation of the mm system. It just makes wars boring and less exciting. I find that is more of a pressing issue than th sniping ever was.
You are exaggerating a bit too much. Any decent Th7 or Th8 base can 3 star an engineered mirror Th10 base that has VERY LITTLE DEFENSES.
SC lets this engineering phenomenon continue because they (the program) cannot distinguish an engineered base from a rushed/premmie base owned by casuals. This game is built upon the casual players and SC cannot do anything that might affect this large player base.
yeah. What I don't understand is that so many people defended SC town hall sniping update because it "wasn't the way to play". Well I don't think engineering to get lopsided matchups is the right way to play either. And I can't wait for all the e tears that follow
"Engineering" is also the fastest way for someone new to the game to participate and enjoy the War aspect of the game.
Getting a new base to TH 7 with level 1 dragons and low or no defenses can be done a lot quicker then maxing TH's 1-6 before going to TH 7.
I believe this game is almost 4 years old.....if a casual player started now and maxed out each TH level before moving on to the next, they might never catch up to the end game (currently TH 11). By focusing on Elixir and DE upgrades, they learn the attacking skills and can progress to TH 11 much quicker.
The engineered clans we have faced have not caused my clan any issues. But we are a small casual adult clan who mostly do 10v10 and sometimes 15v15 wars.
I dont have a problem facing an engineered clan as long as their engineered bases arent capable of 3 starring the top of the map. We clear all the th9s and below without much fuss as is, so a few bases that can clear our 9s arent an issue for us. For example, we just matched a clan with 4 engineered th11s low on the map. 2 have max drags, one has th10 level laloon and one is utterly useless.
Sad part for them is they pulled in our 10.5 vs their 10 on top of the map, and our 10s are solid. This doesnt bother me.
It becomes an issue when the enemy clan has a defenseless th11 with 45/45/20 and your clans top base is a th10. Granted, this is very rare, but its what I would consider too much of an advantage.
