Lol LOOP Sided Bases look NOOB(y)
They probably don't want to do it on purpose. I don't want to do it, but I am doing it because I got sick and tired of facing engineered clans every war. Now we discuss every single upgrade with players within the clan, with extra consideration to added weight. I am not even only talking about defensive weight either. I am quite capable of engineering my clan, but I hate the fact that I am forced to do it.
Then you clearly didn't read the rushing guides. The fastest way to get to a maxed TH11 is by rushing. Fully defenseless bases are not a variety anyway, they are an abomination and need to disappear. But bases with low defense and high offense will be always viable if you want to get to the endgame faster.
Well no, they only half closed that loophole, ref the omission I talked about in my post.
I'm sure if you handed over all the attacks of a medium-hero def strong clan to experienced, war focused players, it would be a hell of a ride. They'd likely put up better base designs, and would stand a far better chance of tripling the def weak bases of the engineers.
That's not the case the majority of the time, and partly by design.
Ignoring the existence of that skill/experience gap, or pretending that it's not one of the fundamental reasons for engineering in the first place, is rather disingenuous.
Agree with you on your engineering standpoint to an extent, wouldn't call the rest try hards but rather lacking enthusiasm/effort.
As for who they win against... I've edited in the true answer...
if you want to be a top clan come bring your engineered clan to play an all TH11 clan... those horrid maxers as they're known by some...
I have to agree to some extent. I've been advocating balanced bases within a balanced roster if you want 'fair' matchups, ever since the March 2016 update.
There's also a very good thread about 'How to get fair and competitive wars' here :-

My issue with this is simply ...Why?
Why should a clan like mine build balanced bases just to avoid those naughty engineered peeps?
Somebody quite correctly told me recently, that in fact, I am just as guilty of roster engineering as anyone else.
The difference being of course, I roster engineer , not to gain an advantage, but to avoid the disadvantage.
Quite an amusing concept really!
p.s. Post October and December, I still advocate balanced bases within a balanced roster!:)
This was mine. Because apparently those "mathematicians" can't actually do math.
So long as the system is based majorly upon weights there will always be a way to gain some advantage by managing those weights.
The October update may have lessened the effect that lopsided bases have, but it did not remove it.
A TH11 defensless base with Level 6 Drags may not "draw" a TH5, but it certainly lessens the effect that other high power defenses or offenses have on the MM from other places in the lineup.
