This debate came up in clan chat and I never really knew the answer... does the percentage change on a base if the stars change?
As as an example.. if the first attack gets 99% but only one star... would someone else hitting that base and getting a 50% 2 star change the overall destruction percentages?
Yes. You can only count one attack - the best attack. So the 2* attack counts towards the result, and the 1* attack is ignored.
FRankly that's as it should be .. prevents the idiocy of when a donut base gets two starred for a decent percentage that weaker teammates could improve the clan in war by doing bad circling attacks to increase the percentageQuote:

He brings a weird (and wonderful) Queen Walk Hydrid army with Giants, Baby Dragons etc and gets 73% but just fails to take down the TH by a whisker.... just one star. We win!
That few seconds when, in the heat of battle, you are just not sure if victory is yours.... priceless!:)

If you have engineered bases in your clan, as you said in some earlier posts/comments, you didn't win actually. You cheated. And you get excited for winning the wars by cheating?
I never did understand players who use cheats and hacks of any kind.
When I play, I play fair or I don't play at all.

For the most part, my clan has balanced bases. We have no lopsided bases, no heavily engineered bases, just the occasional X.5 progression base belonging to Maxers.

This is a very interesting mechanic and one that should not be forgotten by clan leaders or anyone directing attacks and strategy. We actually just won a war by percentage where we were losing by percentage but up a star, and then an enemy attack tied the stars but dropped their percentage (In this case they purposefully made an attack to get a 50-60% two star, forgetting this rule). We won the war by the thinnest of margins. The moral of the story is to keep this obscure rule in mind when things get tight!
