Th Rushers and Intent Advantage in Clan Wars Matching

Has anyone notice that there's a trend now in clan wars where clans are encouraging th rushers with max troops but with intent lower defenses so as to be paired against a lower th. After all, th11 with complete spells and higher troops but rank in the bottom in clan war line up and matched against say a th9 can outrightly 3 stars a max th9, heck even th10. We saw this at work where a #17 in the line up will attack those in the top since their troops and spell counts are ready for its th level. This is an intent advantage over the opponent and does not encourages fair play anymore. Clan wars have lost their appeal because of this intentional mismatch. Like on our current war, we have 1 th 11, 5 th10, and low and behold we are paired against 4 th 11. and 4 th10. Three of the th11 are all found at the bottom of the line up and these are matched against lower th, since their defenses are purposely not upgraded. And hey, this clan strategy seems to be on the rise. This is not fair play anymore and frankly the clan war has lost its appeal. It used to be about attack strategy and the player's ability to gain and win the war. Now it's about how many th rushers you can add on your line up so as to gain advantage over the enemy. And we've battled countless of clans like this in the latest updates of coc. Can supercell do something about this? It would be better to match a th level against the th level regardless of the defenses so as to discourage this form of cheating!!! Yes this is cheating still...in my honest opinion.

It's not cheating it's strategy. Joining your opponents clan to spy when they leave their invites open is not cheating it's strategy. Even if you engineer a clan you have to still get 3 stars you still have to win. You are given easy 3 stars for the defenseless accounts that your opponent has in their clan. So you can outright 3 star those lower defense bases. Ask yourself this question are your attacks not working or your defenses not working? Why not make a defenseless account yourself? Fight fire with fire? Here is an article on cheating in Clash of Clans and it does not include joining your opponents clan or somebody not building defenses. Call it a strategy as u may, but that does not encourages fair play. Obviously a th11 in the bottom can be easily 3 starred because of its weak defenses (if it has one) but it has an intent advantage to wipe out 2 of its opponent base. Tell me, if you have say 10 max th9s in your line up but matched against 10 th11 with th9 defenses, will you still be happy to carry on knowing you have no match troop wise?

But they are not matched against your lower TH. The war map lists bases in order of strongest to weakest defence - to help you when choosing who to attack. It's not a reliable guide to how the matchmaking worked - which uses the offence as well.

There are problems with the matchmaking, but it's not matching max offence TH11s to very low bases.

in our current war 4 of a 20 line up, #1,6,15,19 & 20 of the opponent are th11. 2-5 are th10. We only have 1 th11 and that's our 1: 2-5 are th10. So now, is that still fair play, knowing each of those th11 with complete spell can easily wiped out a max th9??? I dont think so. And I've seen this to be the trend now in the clan wars and not only for our current war.

1. This is one of the forms of "clan engineering " that some find troubling/0ffensive and others view as smart strategy . There are a thousand threads debating the fairness of this many on this first page.

2. SUpercell has indicated that they want to address the matching of these "lopsided bases" .. ones with super high offense and low or no defense . MAny believe that since the October and December updates , the matching has gotten MUCH better . THere are still matches that give the engineers a big advantage but it is also possible they get matched with a disadvantage as well .

Welcome to the party...but you are quite late already. Before posting all this inaccurate info, please spend some time reading this sub forum, specifically posts by onyx and cnaf. You will learn a lot about war match making (mm for the uninitiated).

Incomplete and irrelevant info on how to properly assess a war match up. TH level is irrelevant in the mm.

The war might or might not be fair - it's hard to tell from TH numbers. We've certainly won wars where the enemy has a load of low defence TH10s and stuff down the bottom.

One observation: you have 1 TH11, 5 TH10, 14 TH9 (or under) as I understand it? Therefore in a war against an identical clan all TH9s will end up being 3*ed. You then say they have an advantage because their low TH11s can easily 3* a TH9... but actually that's a complete waste. If they're any good they can do that with their TH9s and TH10s/11s at the top of the list.
In your line up, it's likely to only be results on the TH10s that matter. If those low bases have 40/40/20 heroes and can flatten TH10s, then you have a problem. If they have quite weak heroes, they might be irrelevant.

But the point from my first post, was just the technical one that they haven't matched your low bases. In theory they matched some of your higher bases when it chose them as an opponent. Now there do seem to be problems with this - especially the way it accounts for their 1-cannon defence (assuming that's what they have). But the problem isn't them matching your lowest bases.
