This would murder rushers. Ive tripled rushed th9s with my th8 mini, and this would just put them at a further disadvantage. There have been better solutions proposed, like nerfednames weight tax. Im sure johnny (if he sees this) can link you to them.
There is a problem with this proposal: The engineering clan still has a way better offense with many opportunities to nuke, so what you get at best is a better chance for a tie. That's not the way this feature was intended to work.
A adjustment to the matchmaking system so the a base has to have a minimum defence weight to be in war. Say a th10 would have to have th9 defences. If it does not its not included in the war.
It's like a temporary ban on engineered bases from being included in war. For these bases to be in war they need to fix them self's.
Extreme engineered bases are unfair and unfair things have been removed before. It's time to address this issue.

So if someone upgrades to ten without maxing everything at th9 they don't get to war? So they skipped a few canons and didn't upgrade their spring traps they can't war? That seems rather extreme.
What happens if they introduced a new defense? Does everyone have to sit out until they max those too? I'd still be sitting out of wars cause my bomb towers are only th9 level.
What about rushed players? They would be completely screwed to the point most would probably quit.
Seems to me your idea only helps those that max everything. Which is what alot of these threads amount too. Maxers trying to get an advantage for themselves and force everyone else to play the way they do.
Just cause you think something is unfair does not mean that it is.
It's a silly thread because it is proposing changes to the game based upon a flawed or incomplete understanding.
It got sillier when you assumed that someone who pointed out why the proposed change was not a good idea has a vested interest (going so far as to say that it is "pretty obvious" that they are engineering - not to a rational person it isn't) rather than them having a better understanding of the issue than you.
As others have pointed out, mirrors are meaningless. A base's map position only shows its defensive strength relative to its own clan, nothing more. It is possible for a TH8 with max troops to 3 star a proper TH9. A TH9 with missing or underleveled defences should be eminently wipeable. That those TH9s have heavily weighted items like x-bows means that they are not that likely to be engineered. It could be possible that your clan ran into a normal mismatch and have decided to blame the bugbear of the day - 9 months ago it would have been modding that was said to be at fault.
