Hey guys,
I am going on a trophy run and I need a good TH8 trophy base.
I am using Ping's and it is just getting steam rolled at 2100 trophies :(
Anyone know some decent designs that will help me get higher and higher in the trophy count?

OK, so I'm hovering around 2050 cups, with a TH8 that is by no means maxed out (only my mortars, cannons, 1 wiz tower, 1 air def, 1 archer tower, and a few walls are max). My goal is to get raided twice daily, for an average of a 1-star loss, maybe 1.5 stars - about 10% win, 5% 3-star loss. Pretty soon I'll push for 2200 cups, purely to provide personal satisfaction and fun; I might start to average a 2-star loss, no idea yet.
When you say your base is getting steam rolled, do you mean three-star losses? If not, I suggest you re-set your expectations... it's unlikely your base will get a lot of wins on defense, no matter what the design is.
In Crystal, any TH8 is going to get attacked by TH9 (or TH10) with maxed troops, king and queen too, and so they are a pretty hopeless raider if they can't at least get 50% on you, no matter what your base is like. A really good TH8 base will maximise your chances of getting a 1-star loss, with the occasional win, and few 3-star losses.
You could try making sure you're not hoarding lots of gold or DE, but even so that might possibly hold off a few attackers... In all likelihood you'll still get plenty of raids where their sole objective is to get some easy cups. Ideally, most of them will be simple armies of mostly archers and barbs, which will get then a 1 or 2 star win.
Your best bet, in pushing cups, is to make sure you only raid hard, twice a day, and win pretty much every raid you do. On a good day, I win about 14 out of 15 fights, and my base only gets attacked twice.
I ddon't have too many of any resource. And by steamrolled, I mean I got 100% twice today.
Btw, what base are you using?
I think you're pushing a little to hard for TH 8. I think 2200 cups is the max that maxed defenses can go, but that's still straining them big time. 1400-1800 is good for me.
I design my own bases from scratch - currently on v2 of my "trophy hunt" base, which isn't as inticate as something like Ping's or the Tessla Theme park... but it has the benefit of being a one-off, i.e. people haven't seen it before, so have to guess somewhat if they are not especially skilled/experienced attackers. I'll try and post it soon, as I've only got my v1 up ("Hastur's TH8 (Crystal), or something like that). I've only been 3-starred once, by mass dragons and rage spells, but have had a large number of 1 and 2 star losses, mostly by a TH9 with barbs, archers, king and queen.Quote:

I can recommend having a go at building your own design - it's a fun passtime. I've raided against a number of very familar bases, who have obviously taken the design from someone else, and because I've seen the design before I get a head-start in terms of understanding its strengths and weaknesses, so I've had some pretty good 2-star raids against those copied bases (usually, a revenge attack which gives me a lot of trophies). Most fancy-looking TH8 or TH9 bases can be short-cut with a few well placed wall breakers.
