Loonion Advice for Th 8.5

Hey guys,

I came to th9 about a month ago. I am going the 8.5 route.

I have a few questions for Loonion players for farming DE

1)Which League do you farm in? I was thinking of masters to offset the cost of elixir,but will my base survive there?

2)Army composition. How do you decide whether to take more loons or more minions?What are the changes in attacking style depending on change in the number of loons or minions?

3)Spells. Is it necessary to carry a freeze for th10 raids?Also is heal spell required?

Please note that I am a th8.5 with max th8 defenses and extra ad,tesla,ArcherTower,WizTower,sweeper,walls,traps and storages.

I would also need to farm Elixir to keep my offensive upgrades going.

So any strategy you suggest has to be as elixir friendly as possible.

Pls dont suggest other comps(Gob knife,BAM,GiBarch etc), this thread is purely for loonion.

Loonion is greatly advised IMO, so good job there. I do want to make it very clear that no th9 base will stand undefeated in higher leagues, so with that in mind you have to make more loot than you will lose.

I made over 20K in two shield periods, with about 6-8 attacks. But that is just my way of farming: no boosted sessions, log in, attack twice, train, log off. Casual.

The army for me is: 24 loons, 50 minions, two rage, two heal, poison. CC: max hound and haste.

I farmed up to champ III, but it can bring you even further with a little commitment (I'm at the end of th9, time is my only enemy).

Would you prefer me building xbows and then going to masters to farm or is it manageable without xbows.

Do you get de from th10's also with the same comp?

Can I maintain my elixir or will I loose a lot of elixir

I'm a maxed out th9, and still get stomped in Champ nonetheless. I'd suggest following the 8.5 path for war. This is actually a very good thing because it allows you to accurately refresh a shield (like: right before you go to bed).

I manage to get DE from th10's, but not all of them. You'll find out which ones you'll snatch and which one you won't by practice.

Elixer will still grow (mostly due to champ bonus) but not as rapidly, because you'll focus on DE.

So you prefer me going to champs than masters?

Will I find th9's that can be raided in champs?

How does one loonion exactly. Any tips? Ive tried and it seems hitf and miss. Some bases I stomp, others I get stomped. Where to rage, where to heal, etc. What to look for

You'll find more than enough loot there, whether it is from a 9 or a 10. The loot bonus will aid a lot too.

On top of that; it is inevitable that you'll end up high in Masters or low in Champ with this strategy without much commitment.

Do you use all your spells every raid?

Could you pls tell me what is the minimum loot you look for in a base before raiding. de as well as gold/elixir

Yes, all spells every raid, because you want to be sure to hit a high as possible percentage.

For DE I look for 2000 at least (with bonus that comes down to 3200 at least)

For gold/elixer I look for 300k each at least.

Do you look for 300k/300k and 2k+ de in one raid
Or just de or gold/elixir.

Do I need to max my minions for th9? (they are lv3 now)

Is one hound in cc enough or should I train one too?

I plan on continuously upgrading both my heroes without stopping

I use laloonion for both my main account and my mini which is an 8.5, both with equal success in the right leagues all the while practicing deployment

Since you're also 8.5 I'll only mention the composition and leagues that I farm with that account. But basically I use 2 hounds, 2 baby dragons, 18 loons, and 25 minions and take a golem in my CC. Use the babies dragons to make a little funnel for my heroes and drop in the golem, king, and queen to royal swap and take out the enemy AQ plus an AD. Then in goes the air portion, will always 2 star or better and will get a majority of the loot on every raid. I like to farm between 1400 - 2200 cups for optimal loot.

TH8.5 Laloonion Comp:
2 Hounds
2 Baby Drag
18 Loons
25 Minions

1 Jump
6 Haste
1 Poison

CC: Golem & Poison, Trophies between 1400-2200
