Paying Interest for Storage

OK, playing and reading these forums it seems one of the biggest complaints is that it takes too long to find decent matchups where you can recoup the cost of your attack. I spent thousands of gold passing up people with 20K/30K for example to try and find someone with at least 200K that doesn't have x-bows, maxed defense (I'm TH8). Its a lot of waste of time and some days, I just give up and don't play.

Here's my idea. There needs to be more reward for having your storages at risk of being looted. Currently there is no reward so everyone gets them as low as they can by putting their gold into walls and their elixir into barracks (after using builders to upgrade what they need). So why not pay interest on resources held in storage when they are not under a shield and not online (basically attackable)?

Just like taking your money to a bank, the bank has to pay you for storing your money there. It should work the same in CoC. I would think 1% per hour per storage would be equitable. That way if you held 1 Million in a storage you would be paid 10K per hour. If you have a good defense, the longer you can stay attackable, the more interest you accrue. This would also diminish farming since the minute you lost your TH, you go under the shield and stop making interest. Wouldn't completely stop it, but maybe make people think twice about protecting it.

I think this would be a good way to have more villages worthy of attacking by increasing the amount of resources available to be looted. What do you think? (I have no idea if this has been already suggested, but I didn't see it in the stickies.)

Very good idea well thought out and clever biggest issue is... KIDS! I know 7 year olds who play this and they love it! But not all of us are as old and mature and smart enough to figure out the math and learn the risk and reward! My little brother plays who is 10 and he has figured out no gold=less attacks but he is pretty bright... Idk its a good idea but kids are one of Supercells biggest income sources... I think it would hurt the game to hurt the kids

We have a little something called Gold Mines & Elixer Collector :3

You say every hour we get +10k in Gold and Elixer? In 1 hour we get ( 6 x 3000 ) ( 6 level 11 gold mines) = 18k

We get more from mines and collectors. so instead of the storage interest idea.

So what if you have collectors? This would be in addition to them. Also you don't read very well do you? The hourly interest rate would be based on the quantity in the storages. So based on the OP how much would you make per hour if you had 2m? 3m?

Hint: it is more than 18k.

This is one of the few good ideas I have read in the suggestion forum. I like this idea quite a bit.

Why not make a new way to share resources like on the clan castle there should be a button to press and u say which one u want and they donate just sayin it would be cool

This is an excellent idea, it would be great for the game to further encourage keeping storage's full.

More loot for the coc population to raid, and an ability to grow some more resource of your own.

The interest idea just for holding the resources in the STORAGES is very attractive to me too.Bravo:cool:

Plus the fact that its 1% per storage so you will be getting 2-4% interest.

I think the idea is interesting, but would this encourage less playing and raiding since the interest only applies while offline?

OTOH, it would provide more villages with more loot. This would have more opportunity for attacks. If someone had 2mil in storages hoping to get 20K/hour, maybe they get 3 hours in and make 60K, but then they stand to lose 400K or more if someone comes and wipes them out. But that's a big IF if you can provide a proper defense. :rolleyes:

Yeah, you don't make interest if you stay online all day not letting anyone attack. No risk, no reward. If you go under the shield, same result.

Collectors are basically a free risk interest.... This idea is basically saying that they wants more resources to be generated by other means... And i don't think that it would happen considering 2 things
1. SC just makes boost cheaper.
2. People won't bother saving because they rather raid people who have more resources. And by that means interest would never go (you always going to be attacked thus generating shields)

Its hard to say if a feature like that would be implemented, the way you explained the intrest it doesnt seem like there would be much of an increase at the lower end, while maxed out bases make bank with several million resources at 4%. Another way to look at it is to add a storage separate from the others that makes a small amount of intrest, but can be raided at a much higher percentage of its stores. With a regressive rate of intrest as you level up. Also the building itself could be leveled like a normal storage.

Or maybe the interest could differ depending on the TH level or the amount being held. Give a higher interest for lower level TH (easier to be raided) and a lower interest at the higher TH. That way a TH level 5 holding 1mil would make maybe 3-4% interest while a TH9 might only make 1%. But a TH9 has the ability to hold a lot more in their storages...

Would just like a way for my loot to be available when raiding. There has to be an incentive or else everyone will keep storages at a minimum level most of the time.

The collectors and mines already put your base more at risk the longer your offline, but what the hell, we need more loot its just like adding more interest to collectors so 👍 for this :)

ya good idea i like it. and the fact that its not 24/7 interest makes it better. only when you don't have a shield makes it reasonable for supercell to accept, yet makes everyone happy

This is the best idea that I have seen yet it would fix the game in my opinion.

Yeah collectors do add some, but also depends on what level they are. And if people get one every once in a while and harvest them there isn't much to raid. This would only be based on the amount of resources in the storage. A level 5 wall costs 30K. If I have 300K, there should be some incentive to get me to keep the amount in storage instead of buying walls. If I buy 10 walls and deplete my gold, there is nothing for anyone to raid. This is why you can't find any decent gold hoards. The normal user attacks, attacks, attacks when he has a builder free or becoming free. When they reach their goal to upgrade what they need, they use the builder to upgrade walls and deplete their gold stores first.

If My 300K is at risk to lose 20%+ in one hit, then shouldn't I get something for putting it at risk and defending it? 5% would be 15K in one hour. 2 hours and I can get a lvl 5 wall! Yippee! If someone can think of another way to increase the amount of loot available to attack, I'm all for it. I've had 200K gold in storage all day. Only one attack (defended). If I was making 3% I would have made a little over 54K. Not huge, but it adds up.

Now this is a great idea. It is well thought out and would help the game out overall.

This has nothing to do with the player. It is a calulator that could be added behind the scenes. You wouldn't do anything...so I'm unsure what you mean about keep it "simple". If you mean, make you do nothing different then your currently doing in the game, but recieving a little extra for keeping your resources; then yes, I see your point.

Great idea. It's so hard to find a match now. Im th lvl 7 sitting at 1500 trophies unable to win any attacks what so ever. These days we need more income from our village as raiding is not always realistic. So storage interest would help a lot .

It not only helps reduce farming, but also stops people from using bots to stay online all the time.

Thats the point... Supercell wants you to gem that "Next" button and use your last resources to gem stuff

Yes calculator would do this automatically. I also like the idea of adding more storage into the TH. That way it would be available to attack and force people to protect it. Maybe that would earn interest too...as long as it wasn't under a shield and not destroyed.
