What am I doing wrong with air attacks?

I'm trying air attacks for the first time other than mass dragons. I'm taking 26 loons lvl 6, 2 hounds lvl 2, the rest archers lvl 6. Spells 4 lightning 1 quake. Cc hound lvl 2+ quake lvl 3+. My king and queen are lvl 17. I can't seem to get passed 2 stars. I'm destroying 2 ads. Luring and killing cc. Then dropping hounds with a wall of balloons. Then behind that mass dropping the rest of loons, king, and queen. Am I doing something wrong? Any suggestions on what to do different?

Because destroying 2 ADs and using all your elixir spells is usually a bad idea. And 2 hounds isn't enough in my mind. I'd go no less than 3, most of the time 4 Look up Queen Pop by Cast N Blast as a good starting point.

With the one in the cc I'm using 3. I'll look that up though too. Thanks

I've never really liked double zap-quake laloon because I feel like it leaves too much to chance. Rage or Haste really makes a difference, but it's good to try new strategies to get a feel for them. Regarding heroes, you could try & use them as a distraction towards the end of a raid. Your king can act as a tank quite well for loons while the AQ snipes buildings from behind him. Try dropping them at a spot where loons will take a lot of damage from AT's or WT's & see if it helps.

I have been using Queen pop for a few weeks and find it much easier than a golaloon or any other laloon. In some situations a m4X attack may also be a better option so worthwhile looking at that too.
