How to get Fair and Competitive Wars, and Avoid Engineered Clans

I agree with Lindo here. There are far more bad/mediocre clans compared to good/elite clans. If matchmaking was absolutely perfect, Lindo's clan would probably beat my clan 99/100 times. Yup, some of my friend and family clan members are just that atrocious. I have a feeling Lindo would feel unchallenged with these types of wins and my clan members would probably just quit so its a lose-lose proposition.

Let the maxers have their hardcore leagues while the rest of us casuals can enjoy our 75% win rate.

It is horrible to get a highly engineered clan. We recently went 15 or more wars without a loss. THEN, we hit four impossible wars. I was depressed. I wondered if we were doomed to win wars any more.

Then I opened my mind up and did discover that I can mitigate the engineers we get. I can't eliminate them but we've not seen any more one cannon TH11s since I made some changes. Those changes were quite close to what the OP wrote in his post. Do those things and it will likely get better.

Though, it might have helped us to not win four in a row too. :) That was the horrible part. Three were losses and we are no slobs. We got win number 100 today and 50 percent of those were perfect wars. We've lost 27.

It seems if we try to manipulate the system in anyway, it backfires on us. I suppose we could build a lot of one cannon TH11s but that takes time or money. Once you get to TH7 the lab will slow you down a lot unless you gem it. I'm retired and broke so that won't be happening. :)

The way to mitigate getting engineers is basicly just max you bases and progress and don't take little THs to fill the roster to get more people in.

It's like the fastest gun in the west. Always someone faster and in our case, someone always able to better and faster engineering. You may be doing things to make it worse. If you don't have a lot of wins and are getting engineered, more than likely you are unbalanced in some way or another.

Th9 is long. But in this climate, you can run balloons while youre upgrading heroes and still 3 star. So i would suggest that if youre looking to save time.

I understand the frustrations when u match against engineer clans n there is no doubt cw is the future of this game. I agree if cw dies, coc dies. But due to complexity of game (many different styles of players) itd is hard if not impossible to have a perfect war mm system. Overall tho think sc did good job with war mm. Of course there will b times where disadvantages occur but that would b near impossible to avoid due to the multitude of different bases. I think we can all agree tho that sc did solid job of reconfiguring war mm algorithm overall. A task that is very hard to satisfy all.

I can agree with that. Overall, the MM does a good job. I think they need to de-incentivize people that upgrade town hall and not build defenses, or only upgrade certain troop combinations capable of crushing a lower town hall with ease. A th10 for instance, the minute he unlocks bowlers and 5 spells and more troops should be fair game. So just as engineers like to tell maxers to "be careful who you put in war"... right back at ya. Be careful putting that guy in war, cuz he very well may bring in a solid th10. Let the pendulum swing right back.

Truth n thats the tricky part. I understand both game styles n even tho I side with anti engineer side I also understand other side. Fully comprehending the war mm algorithm is a difficult task n this is where I said dont b short sighted (although I understand n agree with your reasons) it is a skill to understand war mm n using it to ur advantage. A skill I dont agree with but nonetheless a skill. U cant fault the engineers for playing the way they do bc sc allows it. it is a shame tho so many more people r neglecting their bases to gain advantages in war.

Well one of the arguments is that you're going to "hurt the casuals or the honest rushers" that do that... well, I look at it this way: You either care, or you dont care. Right? You either care about your account(s) or you dont care. A genuine rusher who just doesnt know better, will always find a clan. There is a clan for everybody. You cant spoil the bunch for a few bad apples. I have had a few people in my clan way back when that upgraded to th8 so under-developed because they just didnt know. Friends and family that i disnt know played, found out i played, and asked to join. I slowed them down, taught them how to farm, how to upgrade etc... it can be corrected. They still in the whole grand scheme, didnt care about the game. They like it, but they didnt care. So come to the clan, we have endless troops, and we'll put you in war if we need an extra, no big deal. But you have the malicious hiding behind them. And then they cry "we can upgrade anyway we want, dont tell us how to play". Fine. Play how you want. But you're not ruining the wars. You got big league th10 troops that can steamroll a th9, but no defenses? Tough luck. You will pay dearly for it.

You want to be as strong as you can be? Max your TH11, maxing any TH level below that is just artificial, you're still in the middle of the spectrum.

Lol in all fairness I wanna hurt ALL but gotta admit I get extra satisfaction hurting manipulators or high ths that hide in wars by intentionally trying to manipulate wars. Haha

Thats fine, I get that. But I have clanmates that are upgrading as best they can and are not ready for the bigs yet. At no point do I want their experience to be ruined. Theres nothing worse, and I mean nothing worse, than when a war drops, we got 2 th11, 3 th10, and 10 th9, and then we look on the other side and see: 11, 11, 10, 10, 11, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 9, 10, 11, 8. There's nothing to root for on defense. The game loses value then. When Im rooting for disconnects and not defense. When the swords swing and there's no sense in pressing "watch live" because it's useless. Anyone that says that right there is in the best interests of the game, doean't have a brain.

Then progress as fast as you can to maxed TH11 and war in maxed TH11 terms. My main wars with 15 maxed TH11 on our side, the best thing that can happen is that we face 14 TH11s and 1 TH10, it almost always guarantees the win

Adapt to the game, not make the game adapt to you. Don't play tennis with your hands tied behind your back and complain that the opponent doesn't do the same. People min/max and you should too and not upgrade blindly

Just like attack skill/base design, engineering is as much of a skill. Even if you don't engineer, you can get a 80% win rate. Using just a PVE build in a PVP format, you can win most of your wars, I don't see anything unfair there
