There most certainly is an impact, it gets your clan balance significantly out of alignment. However, just dumping low-defense bases down at the bottom, whether th3 or higher th with not much defense, also can get you dumped into that "lopsided" category.

Okay, thanks. They are at the bottom. In that one war they hurt us with the stronger 8s that we couldn't get. We won the war but just barely. :) Our 8s ran out of attacks and they usually end up attacking dead bases.

It appeared to be a one man clan and he was quite good. His nines were a little weak and that cost him the war.

He didn't even attack with his nines. It appeared he went out of the clan to try to get a hound at the end of the war so he could try a zap quake on one of our 9s. He didn't get it and never attacked.

Still, it was an eye opener for me and we are seeing a lot of that kind of thing in the Asia time zone. I suspect it is because of the low weight of the AD.

You're not getting punished for permabasing, it's rather that it's just very hard for the mm to differentiate between a completely max th7 and an early th8. Same for max th8 vs early th9. If those are at the middle or bottom of your roster then it's a mild disadvantage at worst, but if they're at the middle or especially the top then it can cause you to lose the war.

Yes it will, We had to stop using our TH3s because we were getting us one cannon TH11s when we had them in. Taking them all to 7 now. We only used them because I was trying to get more people into war. It use to work.

I was in a clan 2 years ago that did it and at one point it lowered our war weight enough to give us an advantage but Supercell SEEMED to put a stop to that a long time ago. Worked great for a while in that prior clan. Well it seemed too. Never know for sure.

The clan full of permabased th9's might actually be able to match you on skill, but the clan with people who weren't good enough to hit their th9 mirror so rushed to 9.5 aren't usually on that same level. I said it depends on the roster. if his highest bases are th9 - may see impact. if the top 5 bases are 108+ its unlikely.

It is, but should it be? #6M has the "highest skill" but doesnt match all TH11 clans.

I also said that the Th7s are getting matched against TH8s and fully explained why it was a problem in that one war. They are often matched vs some 8s but there is a new trend developing that you don't seem to be aware of. It will grow if you have 7s in war and you will see it.

8s matching to 7s is getting to be the normal for us.

That will be the case if those th7 are near max or maxed. With the dragon and loon buff my th7's are doing very well vs th8 as long as they don't have level 6 ads.

In no way do I take that clan or any clan like that seriously. If we faced them it would be such an embarassment to them. Town halls need to be matched against eachother, then it comes down to heroes.

Why dont you take them seriously? Their exercise, and other clans like them, provide the most information about how the MM is and is not functioning

Because Im a purist who is into gameplay. Here's my base, wheres your base of equal or similar strength, lets see who comes out on top. Thats what impresses me. Not manipulating the matchup. Id rather play checkers if that was the case.
