take off the extra regular spell in the th11 cc

Just dawned on me from someone else's post about yet another unfair war, youre gonna have junk th11's with no defenses being able to kill 3 ad's with level 7 lightning. So all these brilliantly setup maxed out th9's wont be able to defend against 12 level 6 drags with 1 ad. No chance. So this max th9 that took more than a year to get of blood n sweat, will be victimized by the hardcore engineers. Need to adddress it supercell. Fix the mm to make these defenseless th11's pay the price. This is aint good for the game, any reasonable person would agree.

So you still need 2lightning and 1eq? How is it possible to take out 3 air defenses then?

Unless the ad's are lvl 6 you can't destroy three of them with lvl 7 spells. If they are lvl 6 then it's still half TH8 and will get wrecked anyway.

That junk TH11 with maxed spell capacity... and maxed drags... he has an offensive weight number. He isn't getting a free ride.

The only way you are seeing heavily offensive weighted TH11s facing off against TH9s in wars- is if the TH9 side has a very nice advantage elsewhere. Feel free to show me the matchup. In all its glory, all the relevant details. Not simply, a guy that knows a guy that knows a guy, saw a clan war that was cra cra.

Why nerf it though? It's not overpowered and it hasn't been out long enough to tell.
You can't ruin trophy matchmaking and farming just because you think something is OP in war.

Ignoring the extreme engineering part, do you really expect to defend from 2 town hall levels above you?

That's like a TH7 asking to nerf the TH9 archer queen because they don't have that extra slot.

Every clan is different in war. In our wars, when the opponent has th11's attacking our th9's, it means that we are absolutely destroying them.

Dipping two levels down to clean up a TH9 is not exactly the best war strategy. There are lots of TH9 v TH9 3 star opportunities, let alone TH10 v TH9.

but not all the damage is concentrated, it's spread over multiple bolt strikes and doesn't all hit the same spot. I'd have to see it in action to be sure.

But the damage produced by a lightning spell isn't concentrated on one building, so therefore it cannot. It it spread among many buildings one spell hits.

Theres no need for calculater. I got my level 7 lightning quick as a th10, 2 of them kill a level 7 ad. No quake needed. This is problematic

It should be tested out in FC or on the goblin map to be sure. I know the numbers line up- but take into consideration the spread pattern of lighting bolts. I could be wrong.. but I thought the last time I tested it, dropping two dead center on an AD... it wouldn't kill it. Left just a sliver of health.

OK. That junk th11 can roll any th9 on the planet with just about any army composition he chooses so long as he's not in a straightjacket and knows how to kill cc troops.

With or without the extra spell slot, makes no difference whatsoever.

Assuming you're a th9, do you have trouble 3 starring th7's? How about if you're down a spell? Can you not get him then?

It's the same exact thing. It's not a problem with the extra spells, it a problem with defenseless bases warring.

True, but it's not uncommon these days for clans with say 5 TH9s, 10 TH8s and 5 TH7s to face clans that have 5 TH10s, 4 TH9s and the rest TH11s that have the defensive weight of a TH5. (Example sake)

This can't be serious? A th 11 should be able to crush a th 9 twenty different ways engineered or not. You want to remove a great add to the th 11 so that a th 9 doesn't get its feelings hurt :facepalm:

Or if air is all your worried about, double zap your ads, jump my heroes to your third, tie up your fourth with a lvl 4 hound loon out of my cc and mass baby drag your base. The point is, no th9 should be calling for a nerf of a th11 troop or spell. You will be there one day then crying about offense needing a buff.

The extra spell is needed to balance TH11 offense against TH11 defense. You don't even need an engineered TH11 to guarantee a 3 star on TH9s. A TH10 can do the job.

Your problem is MM, or more likely a war roster that creates these matchups. Actually, I've seen enough of your posts to be pretty durn sure that's the case. I haven't seen an engineered TH11 since October in our TH10-TH7 wars.

I understand that you are railing against engineering OP. It's a part of the game and that's the way it is. Cnaf is correct in that after October's update he is paying a price for his offense and you have an advantage somewhere else. Also, if he's wasting a th11 attack on a th9 dip, his clan is losing.

I'm not following this argument whatsoever. A junk th11 does not need an extra lightning to annihilate any max th9. He can do that in numerous ways and was always able to do so prior to the extra spell.

So if the title of this post came true, and the extra spell was rolled back, what would that accomplish?

Junk th11's would still annihilate any th9 they want to. Max th9 or otherwise.

They don't have to use drags or lightning and in fact, I've never seen one do that ever. Defenseless th11's are typically a second account of a max or near max th11 who is already good at running many kinds of hits and moved past dragon spam at th8.

I don't think a th11 needs to zap 3 ad to 3 star a th9. 6 rage with 13 drags would probably work. Bowlers, valks, lava loon, maybe even gowipe or mass witches can kill th9's. I wonder if a th11 with 45/45/20 heros, 6 spells, and barch can 3 star a th9 war base. That would be funny. Then people can ask for barch to be nerfed.

We've held off junk th11's running drags with our properly setup big 9's. They could only kill 2 ads. Now they can kill 3. But its the fact that people will engineer worse than before now.

He is correct about 2 spells doing it, the spread pattern doesn't affect bringing it down. I don't think he is correct about those matchups. Perhaps once in a blue moon one TH11 might slip into a TH9 war. Show me the war. Show me the wars where this was the defining difference between the two clans. I don't mind being wrong. I'd just like to see it for myself.

With that troop buff or new troop would come a new way for an engineered th11 to take down a th9. Taking the extra spell slot isn't going to stop the engineered accounts that are out there or discourage anyone from making a new one. It's ironic that you're implying that I'm stupid :facepalm:

If he has strong heroes and offense, spell camps... he is bringing a heavy offensive weight. Which is accounted for elsewhere. Not at #20 or #21 on the war map. That's strictly a defensive ranking.

Fair enough turns out after testing that it does in fact work, I thought the bolt spread wouldn't allow it to work (it's possible they tightened the bolt spread at some point, lots of folks used to have issues with lightning not doing "full" damage).

In any event, this is a ridiculous suggestion and entirely unnecessary. If you're upset about engineering make changes to the matchmaking algorithm, don't nerf TH11 offense.

Sure its an offensive advantage but hes also at a defensive disadvantage too. So now lower level guys can 3 star it leaving upper bases to be attacks with other clan members. We run into this all the dang time and too many people complain over these engineered bases. Just get better at attacking at the top and you wont need to worry about those bases. And just because they may have the troops doesnt mean they can execute in a way to be beneficial in war. If they are attacking a th9 in war its A) either to clean up and get the most stars possible, or B) they arent very good in the first place and can just spam attack to get the 3 star. Just last war, Im a TH11, I dropped to 3 star an engineered th10 that had th9 defenses just to get the most stars possible. I dont see the problem to here in that??? Isnt that the end goal?

He is, just not his defensive mirror. Either your top guys will be a bit stronger or you'll have a few more THs at higher levels than they do. Demanding a nerf on account of TH11 engineers being able to 3 star TH9s isn't going to get any traction.

Whether the weight of that engineered TH11 is appropriate or not, is up for question.

I understand what youre saying. Our problem isnt an attacking problem, its a matchup problem. Matchups are being created that shouldnt have been created in the first place. Thats the problem with engineering. Engineered clans are guaranteeing themselves almost 100% destruction everytime.

Did the math, which I think is accurate, with the lineup I gave for a 20 v 20 war, the clan with the low town hall levels would weight 1,115 (assumed max)

While the engineered clan would weigh 941.

Low chance of them actually matching, but the clan with the higher offensive power would actually have a higher advantage if they were to ever actually match right. And half of clan A would have trouble touching the opposing Clan B because they have a defensive AND offensive advantage.

I know what youre saying to but case in point, we just went against 2 straight clans that have a fair share of engineered bases. The top end of those clans had weak bases our top guys crushed and our middle had a hard time with their middle do to those engineered bases. So overall the matchup was about right since we had to have th10s and 11s drop to cover bases with th9 defenses. I suppose if every single base is an engineered 11 or 10 it might be different story but I havent ran across that yet. Maybe about 10 to 15 engineered out of 30 is the most ive seen.

While the engineered clan would weigh 941.

Low chance of them actually matching, but the clan with the higher offensive power would actually have a higher advantage if they were to ever actually match right. And half of clan A would have trouble touching the opposing Clan B because they have a defensive AND offensive advantage.

How do you know the weight of the engineered clan? Surely you are not tallying up only defensive weight- because that is in no way shape or form how a defenseless base with heavy offense is weighted for wars.

This is was my first thought. Using a TH11 with max drags/lightning to cleanup 9's seems like a waste of an attack.

Completely forgot about the offensive weight as I was only using the defensive weights :facepalm:

Actually, I'm not that knowledgeable in the offensive weighting per TH level. Anyone know this exact?

No one knows a way to measure offensive weight. That is why these engineered threads exist, because most folks tend to only look across from them instead of looking at the war map as a whole. Guys like cnaf make data sheets of every war and can make educated inferences based on what they see over time, but hard numbers we don't have access to.

Exactly... well that's a SuperCell secret. There are players that have spent an enormous amount of time, effort and data compiling into reverse engineering this. Me being one of them.

Let me just say this. That recommended target choice you see when a war first starts... it's kinda important in the stuff I just mentioned above.

Interesting, off a guess, would the engineered clan, assuming they have maxed offensive troops, spells and heroes, is there a chance they get matched with the standard clan, maxed offense and defense as well.

Off of a guesstimate on your part ofc if you don't mind :)

Threads like these really irritate me. Any TH11 should 3 any TH9 with ease without without the extra spell slot in CC. It's beyond ludicrous for you as aTH9 for ask it be removed. I'm a TH9 also. I plan on progressing to TH10 and eventually TH11 at my own pace. When I get there I'd love for it to be well balanced and not still be all jacked up because a some other tH9 complained about something that has no bearing on their own gameply

Take it ez buddy. Im a th11 who also has 3 th9 accounts. Im taking the WHOLE COMMUNITY in regards to clan wars into account with this post. Idc how irritated you are. Stop being selfish and care for the longevity of the game. Cuz clan wars are the crux of this game

To retort, I believe you are the one being selfish. there is no need to remove a spell because a th11 can 3 a th9. I just don't get it. What it really seems you are complaining about is engineering.

Yes. And the matchmaker. If they not gonna put more weight into the th itself, then this will lead to exploitation. If they put heavy weight into the th itself, then this isnt a problem. Although i do think th11 needed some buffing and maybe a new troop, not an extra regular spell. 2 dark spells? Totally fine with that. Lets not hand out 3 stars now after all this work

While I can't speak directly to what effect the extra spell has on TH11 attacks I will say that I don't think the effect the extra slot should really make any difference in engineering. I'm not a huge fan of engineering but I am not going to condemn it either. For the forseeable future it sure seems like war MM is what it is. My clan is doing fine. We go up against some engineered clans and some that aren't. We've been able to hold our own against both and have, wht I would consider, a pretty respectable war record.

From what I've reading in forums for a while is that TH11 is short on offense. It certainly sounds like the extra slot is all for the greater good.

Didn't mean to come on so strong before, but I think multiple viable offensive strats is what makes this game interesting. I find the defensive half and base building to be more of a boring chore.

I agree th11 is short on offense. The miners were too powerful, then they nerfed. SC always seems to go tonone extreme or another. It's a tough balancing act and i give them credit cuz overall they do a wonderful job with balancing. They just have to tread carefully with every addition, and the feel that the game has now is they want everyone to go to th11. And ive been on here everyday fighting against engineering. If they dont fix, then maybe they can make leaderboards of top clans that war at the highest avg war weights... that could at least devalue the hardcore engineering. Make a leaderboard for that and they can make a winstreak leaderboard for the engineers and let the community decide which is more revered. They have to put out more goals and have light at the end of the tunnel to spice it up now, cuz the endless warring is getting stale. And then now with the engineering, its leaving a bad taste in the mouths of many. I just want the game to stay great. Appreciate the post, and Im sorry for getting testy as well. :)

Max lightning x2 takes out a th9 AD if you drop it on the AD. I do it all the time.
