First, clear a wide path from the river to the interior of your farm.
Buy a couple of small ponds and a boatload of green hedges. Store them.
Wait for the frogs to jump out of the river, and when you get 3-4-5, pull out a pond and put it on a straight line to where the frogs are to entice them deeper into your farm land. Start pulling out green hedges and make a corral.
Use that pond to draw the frogs to the corral and at the last moment put the pond on the other side of the corral, and the frogs will hop into the corral. Drop hedges to enclose the corral and they are trapped.
Repeat until you have all the frogs you want.
You can also let frogs hop into the pond, and then put it inside a large corral and tap tap tap until they all jump out, and move the pond - but I find that I can't move the pond fast enough to get all the frogs out before some jump back in.
DON'T EVER USE EDIT MODE -- You WILL lose ALL your frogs. I tried edit mode, and when I went back to my regular layout, all my frogs were outside of the frogcatraz and making a beeline for the river. It was a lot of hard work to recapture everyone, but I finally did it.
Make sure your pen is large enough to hold your frogs with 2 squares of extra room all around. Stash a pond behind a row of hedges to keep the frogs from wandering.
I have maybe 100 frogs or more in my Frogcatraz now -- I love my frogs!!
