And my Daily Dirt is dominated by Cloche Hats...
Is this the new normal that pre-70 players just dont know about? Or is it some fluke that goes away post-70?
It's as bad as when eggs ruled the world.

And my Daily Dirt is dominated by Cloche Hats...
Is this the new normal that pre-70 players just dont know about? Or is it some fluke that goes away post-70?
It's as bad as when eggs ruled the world.
It's horrible isn't it?
I believe there are eventually only three hats, and the other two require feathers.
So everyone trying to master it fills it up with these Cloche Hats, ruining the paper.
I wish there was a straw hat, at least then we might get a mix of the two hats in the paper with wheat & wool burners.
It does get better. Once you unlock tofu dogs it's more of a 50/50 mix 😜
Well ♥♥♥♥.
Oh no, I don't think this is going away. It's just so annoying, isn't it xD
There was a time in the not too distant past that complaints were loud and plentiful that there was too much wheat in the paper. Pages and pages of wheat ads.
Or eggs. Or indigo.
Its sad but true that at times different products seem to dominate the DD making it appear less than interesting.
However it's also true that these items are going to bring the seller the most advertising time. An ad for red hats will continue to be advertised until they are sold or for 3 hours. So the ad gets recycled over and over in version after version of the DD.
Many times when when you tap on one of these ads there are more desireable items in the shop. Sometimes already sold a half second before you got there.
I know it makes shopping frustrating. One of the reasons I prefer not to shop.
This always cracks me up! I purposefully place ads for red hats, tofu dogs, indigo, wheat and eggs (all at full price). And I *hide* the good stuff behind those ads.
Giggle
Ha ha ha! Apparently I'm the person everyone complains about! Doh!
Yep. I do too. Rarely red hats or tofu dogs but if I'm selling premium items I'm likely to advertise popcorn or wheat. And people never fail to come in and buy the expansion items and cakes and coffees regardless.
If I were to advertise my planks they would be gone to the fastest shoppers. And the ad would only last as long as the first version of the DD
When I was a young farmer, the Daily Dirt was full of bacon and eggs AND I had to walk 5 kms uphill to get my paper :o
You'll get used to it pretty quickly, probably within a month. I don't even notice the hats any more; my brain has somehow retrained itself to skip right past them and see only the good things.
Well, once in a blue moon I do get fooled thinking a tofu dog night be a panel or plank if I'm flipping the pages suuuuper fast :o, but the hats are just a blur that become easy to ignore.
Yeah it's really annoying, but I'm level 75 and anticipating when this happens again with tofu dogs... Oh goodness...
People using the free trial, or hiring the helpers, have excess wool. Quickest way to use it - cloche hats!
Hey Nick are you seeing this? Cloche Hat invasion! One thing that would help settle this would be to add a Straw Hat. At least then farmers will have to choose between Cloche Hat & Straw Hat when loading up the Hat Maker.
While I haven't unlocked the other hats yet, I'm sure they aren't anywhere near as common due to Feather requirement.
very good, I have dream so you.
There's one way that the cloche hats or tofu dogs are handy: you know how to put up ads for boat help. Cloches and tofu dogs are slow movers, so if you have boat crates that want something high-level, like sun hats or lasagna, you put them up for sale. That way only the higher-level folks will see the ad and be able to fill your crates. No use putting up indigo or wheat for help; too many low-level people can't fill your crates and then your ad gets bought.
I definitely agree that it can be used for getting helps. But when you just want to skim the paper and don't have time to click and search, a useful ad helps immensely.
I used to click every ad regardless of the ad image, but I was younger back then and full of life.
