I currently have 571 diamonds because I recently bought some and I was wondering what I should spend it on, I was thinking of upgrading my production slots but I'm gonna wait and take people's opinions first.
Thanks :)

What level are you ?
How many slots do you have open in your current machines?
I d say increasing production slots first - that s an investment in game (vs spending them on one shot to speed things). Starting by dairy, sugar mill, and fast turn over machines producing ingredients further used (such as bakery). All depending on the level you are.
I think there was a thread about that already not long ago.
Also, have a look at the 'new in game' sub forums, which a gold mine of advices and guides.
Opening op production slots is the best thing to do, here. :) Unless there's a holiday decoration you really want, of course. They're time limited (but will be back next year), so if you want them fast, it's fair to spend diamonds on them.

Diamonds are the most expensive item in the game, so you want to spend them wisely. The only 2 ways to best spend diamonds are:
1. Adding slots to your machines
2. Adding bins to your Roadside Shop
All other uses for diamonds are temporary and provide no lasting value. Since you can earn "free" bins by adding Facebook Friends, make use of that section in the forum to add Hay Day players as Facebook Friends to earn all of your free bins. Once you've added 9 slots to ALL of your machines, then you can buy extra bins.
Never waste diamonds on hiring Helpers (Tom, Rose, Ernest), speeding production times, buying items (crops, products, coins, vouchers, pets, etc.), making diamond rings, opening Mystery Boxes, free Wheel of Fortune spins, buying decorations, refreshing derby prizes, etc. All of these are temporary. Diamonds should only be spend on adding machine slots, then adding Roadside Shop bins.
I agree with all of the above.
Production slots, production slots, production slots!
♥♥♥♥, I don't even have that many and i'm on level 71! :P (I just add them where needed to be honest XD)
i didn't worry about the farm stand bins too much. Just enough to have a few spaces "off screen" for trading with my neighborhood.
Maximize slots for dairy, sugar machine, sauce maker, and have at least 4 slot open for each machines. (same for the fishing zone machines)
I had so much fun several weeks back! It also really made me think about what I needed more and I met a lot of forumers...

A lot depends on how you play. I still have only 12 slots on my RSS, and two of those came as a surprise when the number we could follow was increased!
I don't have all slots open on some machines - jam, for example - as I can keep it running constantly with only 5 slots. I have more slots open on smelters, though, as I find it's better to load them up after a mining task, rather than have my barn full of ore. I can then do another mining task and stack the ore at the mine.
I agree that all slots should be open on sugar, dairy, feed and the sauce maker. The rest of the machines can have slots added when the need arises, and when there are spare diamonds.
As others stated really depends on your style of play and how often you play.
If you play regularly, you don't need many slots on machines like Jam Maker & Smelters; as you will be able to keep them busy all the time with just 2-3 slots.
Machines I believe are well worth maxing are:
Feed Mills
Dairy
Sugar Mill
Bakery
Sauce Maker
Others I have maxed, but don't necessary need to.
Juice Press [for Carrot Juice]
Popcorn Pot [for regular Popcorn]
Pasta Maker [to burn off Wheat/Eggs]
Loom [To make heaps of Cotton Fabric]
Coffee Kiosk [Makes everything fast - but limited by Dairy/Sugar supplies]
Also have 6 slots for Lure Maker & Net Maker, I personally find that the ideal amount.
I even thing at depends on activity: Tom. If you always hire Tom 10 days at a time, and always request shovels, and always accept 8 or 9, you can make a diamond profit. Rehiring Tom will only cost 90 diamonds and you can earn ~105 diamonds during that time. It's not much, but an extra 15 diamonds every 10 days is pretty decent. But you have to be on top of your Tom notifications.
Everything was Daz said, production slots is the way to go. i'm one level away from Sauce Maker and got diamonds left which I'm gonna use to open the sauce's slots.
How come nobody said their spouse as being the best thing to spend diamonds on :D
Save your diamonds for the slots in the fishing area. It gets quite expensive!!!
Yes it will debruskee but i mostly plan filling my machines. I sleep like 8+ hrs daily and during those times i fill machines with the products that take alot of time. In most of the machines it goes well but in coffee, tea machines it doesnt but then i dont care if i cant run machines 24/7. As long as u have enough, u should be ok :) If i have enough to keep me going and help my friends, thats enough for me. As some said before, it depends on how u think and style of play :)
