Yes you are able to do so. I think it works the same way it works in global. This will help a lot to ban those hoppers who just join clans and swear at others and before kicking him/her the players can report him so he will get banned:cool:. I think it is a great feature
It can be easily abused. I see more abuse coming from it than benefit
It's going to get abused like crazy. Stupid and unnecessary change.
Wow as a leader I am very worried about this-it could massively be abused.
i think my clan like me but I guess I will find out now haha
U have a kick or leave button to regulate whats goes on in clan chat. The report button will just get abused.
How is this fair if someone new comes into the clan and doesn't like what's being said? Clan chat should be regulated by the leader and Co leaders, not some cry baby who needs a safe place.
This is going to get heavily abused...it needs to be removed. Trolls will join and mass report, even in adult clans that advertise as such, and allow political/religious speech and cursing.
There should be an option to turn off reporting in clan
To many will be pressing to see what it does. They need to give more info on this.
Why did supercell not tell us about this come on supercell tell us about everything you have done in this update
What kind of clan do you run where people would actually report fellow members?
Yes, Maybe you are abusing the global chat you are muted/banned from the global chat, or you spamming in the global they at this moments.
How much will things get messed up if people r banned from clan chat when wars going on? will they still be able to request for war troops. This has got to be a mistake. How could they add something like this and not clarify how it works.
A solution for a problem that never existed. A clan is typically comprised of like minded, compatible people. The others are weeded out or remove themselves. This button has the potential to change clan dynamics as new people enter and try to bend the clan to their will or just join and report to be obnoxious. Supercell, you really screwed up this time.
Do reported people get a 24h clan chat ban?
How many reports does it take to get someone banned from chat? We have people in the clan with 5 accounts. They get the top players banned no more maxed troops for war request. Really need a mod to address this.
This is a bad feature, just like all other Leaders have said it should be up to us how we regulate our own clan, this will make it hard to trust new recruits or members that might go rogue for any reason.
More info would be helpful. I am assuming it would take a minimum number of reports from different people to get a ban? Like global?
Does anyone know the specifics on clan chat reporting? Like...
What happens to someone with too many Reports?
How many does it take?
*Sorry if this is posted some where. I did some searching however didn't find it. Kinda hard while answering the phone and hiding from my boss! :)
This is bonkers and will be abused constantly. How does SC not see this?
What happens when a report is made? Is the leader of the clan notified so that he can take measures to sort the issue out? If not the guy that was reported will no doubt accuse every tom ♥♥♥♥ and harry in the clan trying to find out who it was that reported him in the first place. That will no doubt be the cause of many more reports.
As a co-leader can I report the leader and make up some trumped up reason as to why he should be banned? What happens if leader is banned do I get leader? :p
If I am unhappy my clan lost in war can I go join opponents clan and then spam report them all with a trumped up reason as to why they should be banned?
Has SC employed some staff to deal with these reports as they are normally slow at responding as it is....they are going to now be inundated with reports and complaints from people?
Maybe a MOD could come and clarify exactly what happens when a report is made - is it the same as normal global reporting and sanctions the same?
What I find really odd about it, is it seems you can only report people with lower trophies then you, lol...
Trophies means something NOW!!!
Edit: actually its not even that! Don't know what it is but I have the report option on some members but not on others... weird
Can leaders/Co be banned from their own chat?
Can banned people still request troops?
Will there be backlash from supercell if we make a rule that using the report feature is a kickable offense?
This needs to be explained, at least.
Probably the worst feature added to clash since the beginning.
This feature would be heavily abused in req and leave clans. Guess what would happen if every new member report the leader and leave🤔
Really. This was so unnecessary. It's almost like they didn't think of what could POSSIBLY happen in game and just added it anyway. What good will come out of this? WHAT is the point of reporting in clan? You have the invite only button to accept the players you WANT, why is there a reporting button? And WHY can members also report?
Hmmmm -- wondering how this works. Just had someone new come into our clan and !@#$%. They could only be reported once. I don't yet know if that is because my kid and I share the same internet or if that is built in.
I just clicked on leader in chat... had the option to report him. Rank does not matter
As a leader, I have to say I hate this. The "kick out" button is all we need to deal with any idiots. This report thing can so easily be abused. Since it's not necessary, why have it? Please remove.
Interesting no one knows.
This is a bad idea. 'Nuff said.
Just seems like it potentially creates more problems than it solves. Wonder why we got a feature I've never seen anyone ask for and was not described/discussed before we were inflicted with it. Just seems like bad JuJu.
Why do we need a report button in clan chat? What is its purpose and what happens if you are reported?
There's a report button in clan chat?
Yes. So imagine 7 members of your clan or possibly 3 angry members who you did not put in war or told them to donate more with another 4 kids decided to report you, you could lose your leadership or be banned for 24 hours...
the report function in global created anarchy and chaos in global. It silenced the voices of adults there. It lead to the migration to norsk. Now imagine all of this fiasco coming to your clan.
Yep, more information required.
Would like more info on just how this works?
This should have been covered in the notes.
The report button in the clan chat is the worst thing I have ever seen, supercell, please remove it! We have a kick button so we can just kick them out
i know they will say that it's there for legal reasons but still! It should be removed! (the report button in the clan chat, not global)
I think they should add the mute button from global too xD
There's already a clan chat filter. Why would we need this? It will be abused!
Ok since this added, why it was added? The clan chat used to be a private place where clan related stuff is dicussed & it is kept there(I know you could report to support but not everyone knew about it). Now this will turn things to childish somehow? Few kids decide to get someone into trouble(leader as first thought example) & report him for any word they think inappropriate while the clan rules allows it. What happens in this case?
We ask them to remove reporting from global chat and guess what they do for us... Exact opposite lol
Can someone in "authority" create a sticky explaining the report button in the clan chat?
I am not a fan of the in-clan report feature. I see the potential for abuse and subversion within clans and i would like a formal explanation from supercell on what occurs when this button is used by an inclan member, what scrutinity is being done by support to ensure that something is actually report worthy before action is taken, and what the resulting actions are. For example, people visit clans for social reasons, end of season tournaments, arranging wars, even visiting a team you lost to or their members visit after losing to your team. As a clan leader, do i need to have stranger-danger alert on high and not let new people into the clan in case someone decides to do malicious reporting of my clan members? if i speak to a clan member about donations or other matters in a non abusive way and they dont like the message, am i or my management team at risk for some sort of ban?
i think this is a huge detriment to the social aspect of the game. Until i hear from supercell im very reluctant to visit other clans, or allow unknown people in my clan. Our clan operates on the principle of respect your teammates. and im already very untolerant of any sort of non-respectful behavior or actions between clanmates. This function feels very unnecessary and very risky for clans. I hope to hear the explanation and also assurances that there will be due diligence in investigations and not some auto-bans imposed arbitrarily.
Relax people. Your leaders arnt gonna get banned for no reason. Jus because uve been reported doesn't mean u actually did somthing and will be banned. I agree this is a usless feature and I don't see a point other then harassment on clans that have been around for years who like to speak to each other how they wish. The report button is rediculous in global nevermind in clans. If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen. If u d9nt like what your reading in clan or global then leave.
I also would like further clarification on this matter. I cannot see how this will be a good option within a Clan that recruits. If a new member is able to report ranked members of a Clan, this will only lead to abusive of the system. Thus reducing communication within a Clan. People who care about their Clan will be too afraid of speaking out to new members in case they receive a ban.
Report button a big no. We are always cursing each other in chat. Don't want to get reported by kids lol.
My 2 penneth... no no no... not needed... hope this don't ruin our clan chat!
Someone go try it out in their clan! :p
I am in a very stable two year old clan, co leaders are reliable adult players that have worked together since the start.
I dont believe it will be an issue in my clan however I feel this report function is unnecessary, we currently have the option to kick and if they persistently make nasty join requests we can use the in game report function.
I agree with earlier posts that it will be unbelievably exploited and cause numerous issues for clans that are trying to recruit.
edit. Ive looked through the release notes and cannot find anything about this. Please can we have more information on how many reports etc etc.
Surely any player that does unnecessary repeat spam reporting will be held just as accountable as the justifiable ones that are reported.
I'm all for the wait and see how it evolves approach usually but this really could cause big issues.
I'm the main co leader in my clan...the clan has been told already if they report anyone and it is found out they will be instantly kicked and not welcomed back to the clan ever!
I don't think they will be getting rid of this feature. It probably has to do with legal/liability stuff for Supercell.
That being said, I don't think it was necessary to have it. We could kick out bad peeps, plus we have a clan chat filter. Also you could report a person (still can) the old fashion way in game too.
Imho if you are in a good/steady etc. type clan this shouldn't be a cause for alarm. Just gotta be more mindful of new peeps you let join, and for older members mind your Ps & Qs I guess..
Does seem that it may stifle creative/weird types in chat. Hope I don't get reported if I bust out a tune or 3 in chat for no apparent reason. :(
Players being abusive in clan chat can already be punished by being kicked out. So, there was no need for this option and there are a lot of negatives to it. It was a bad idea.
Sorry for the delay on this as I wanted to try and get a good answer for you all. Still might not be good enough for some but you should not fear this feature or worry that it will disrupt your clan.
The in clan player report feature will not generate an auto ban. This feature is for player support purposes only and frivolous reports will be disregarded.
What does player support mean?
Player support would be instances that players are already reporting such as inappropriate behavior or solicitation (bots and gem scams) within your clan chat. This feature makes it easier for support to access chat logs and provide a quicker resolution to those types of issues.
I just closed my clan and will not be accepting new members until this issue is fixed. Also have a few young ones in the clan, should I just boot them now?
Thank you, Smolson, for clarifying. Appreciated.
Thank you for researching this smolson and letting us know. As leaders in clans we need to have information to pass out to others. Sounds like a lot of work for "player support" to look through all those reports to find the real stuff.
Thanks so much smolson!
It doesnt give the option to explain why ur reporting someone. So i dont know how supercell would know what ur reporting a person for.
well how would they know if ur reporting for cheating, or what they said in chat, or a kid just spamming the report button.
And i imagine that would take a massive amount of people reading through everyones chats when the kids r spamming that button right and left.
Yep. pretty much.
If you are reporting a player for cheating or mods you would most likely use the normal ingame report feature and not report the actual message. Again, let me reiterate that this is primarily for instances of inappropriate behavior or solicitation. If you're reporting a message it should be pretty self explanatory why it's being reported by reading the content.
Perhaps, but as I said above, the frivolous reports will be disregarded. There's nothing stopping you from reporting everyone in your clan right now using the current report feature. This only allows for reporting of specific messages instead of support having to sift through pages of chat logs to find the post that's being reported.
Why are you giving new people the ability to kick people? Unless they are actually saying in the chat "I'm kicking everyone because x,y,z and I tricked you into giving me rank" or something that is incriminating within the message I wouldn't see a reason to report the message. If something like that happens I would think the in game support function would be a better choice.
Unnecessary feature imo .
Why couldn't sc fix the default select troop problem while scouting instead ?
In a clan with 50 mature people I must say this feautesr is being abused already, we're mature but we cuss and talk about politics and what not...
Thanks Smolson for finding the answer.
