My 2 penneth... no no no... not needed... hope this don't ruin our clan chat!
Someone go try it out in their clan! :p
I am in a very stable two year old clan, co leaders are reliable adult players that have worked together since the start.
I dont believe it will be an issue in my clan however I feel this report function is unnecessary, we currently have the option to kick and if they persistently make nasty join requests we can use the in game report function.
I agree with earlier posts that it will be unbelievably exploited and cause numerous issues for clans that are trying to recruit.
edit. Ive looked through the release notes and cannot find anything about this. Please can we have more information on how many reports etc etc.
Surely any player that does unnecessary repeat spam reporting will be held just as accountable as the justifiable ones that are reported.
I'm all for the wait and see how it evolves approach usually but this really could cause big issues.
I'm the main co leader in my clan...the clan has been told already if they report anyone and it is found out they will be instantly kicked and not welcomed back to the clan ever!
I don't think they will be getting rid of this feature. It probably has to do with legal/liability stuff for Supercell.
That being said, I don't think it was necessary to have it. We could kick out bad peeps, plus we have a clan chat filter. Also you could report a person (still can) the old fashion way in game too.
Imho if you are in a good/steady etc. type clan this shouldn't be a cause for alarm. Just gotta be more mindful of new peeps you let join, and for older members mind your Ps & Qs I guess..
Does seem that it may stifle creative/weird types in chat. Hope I don't get reported if I bust out a tune or 3 in chat for no apparent reason. :(
Players being abusive in clan chat can already be punished by being kicked out. So, there was no need for this option and there are a lot of negatives to it. It was a bad idea.
Sorry for the delay on this as I wanted to try and get a good answer for you all. Still might not be good enough for some but you should not fear this feature or worry that it will disrupt your clan.
The in clan player report feature will not generate an auto ban. This feature is for player support purposes only and frivolous reports will be disregarded.
What does player support mean?
Player support would be instances that players are already reporting such as inappropriate behavior or solicitation (bots and gem scams) within your clan chat. This feature makes it easier for support to access chat logs and provide a quicker resolution to those types of issues.
I just closed my clan and will not be accepting new members until this issue is fixed. Also have a few young ones in the clan, should I just boot them now?
Thank you, Smolson, for clarifying. Appreciated.
