Is this possible? I play my main farm on my android phone, and recently got an android tablet and want to make a baby farm.
Yes, provided you don't use the same google/apple ID :)
Great, so that's probably what I'm doing wrong lol. And how do I do that? I've tried to set up a new farm on the tablet, and selected my new Gmail account, but for some reason it still signs me into my main account and says something about it signed me out, blah blah something about only one account per device.
I have three farms - two on Android devices and the third on a Kindle Fire. Each is linked to a separate email account, and I have no difficulty with them.
Do you use Facebook? I don't, so am no expert, but I know that FB can be used to play the same farm on several devices.
Since your tablet is brand new, it's probably to just reset it to factory and start over.
When you set up the new android tablet, ensure that you make a completely new google play account and sign up for a brand new email, and don't enter your existing email or google accounts at all. Then when you download hay day and start it again, it won't know about your main farm and will start up the baby farm for you.
Yay I did it! Thank you very much for all the help! I just had to delete my Gmail linked to my main and only set up the baby farm email. Thanks!
Glad it worked!
Now that I have a baby farm, what machines are needed to successfully run one?
Personally I have two farms, on two device. Just have to use two different Gmail account, Google play account :) my second farm is level 39. Main Farm is 83.
As with all things Hay Day, it's entirely up to you how you choose to run a second farm.
Some use it as a feeder for their main farm, so sugar, dairy and feed mills are the best investment (and, eventually, the sauce maker). It's also good as a source of extra fish, but it can be frustrating that you can't transfer lures and nets from your main farm.
My second and third farms are run separately from the main one, and have taken on lives of their own. My second is currently an Elder in a small hood; my third is Leader of a solo hood. I like that arrangement, as it gives me a range of different experiences, but I do change the arrangement from time to time.
I also use them to experiment with how things work, to increase my knowledge. I have kicked one of my farms out of my main hood several times, so I could see what happens under different circumstances!
Over time you will probably find that your farms will evolve, depending on your playing style.
Happy farming!
Sounds like a plan! Thank you both for your input :D time to explore hehe.
I have 5 farms. My own little neighborhood. Lol. I just keep my old phones and start new ones.
If using it as a feeder farm, make it self sufficient. Don't make it a drain on your main farm's resources (coins, products, etc). Give it a one time donation of coins and after that make it stand on its own two feet. Selling to the main farm at default should give you enough to always be able to afford the next machines if you need them. But make sure there's a need...
Also bear in mind if you shift a lot of the production to the feeder farm, your main farm will suffer from the loss of gaining xp from making those goods.
Things you can do is use its barn and silo as storage. It is usually far simpler to upgrade the smaller farm's storage than the main one.
And, don't over produce. Become efficient. A feeder farm can easily be run by attending to it 2-3 times daily max. Set yourself realistic goals of what you can use it for but not so high that it detracts from tending to your main farm.
And don't ever help anyone other than yourself from it or people will raid your goodies.
Apart from that, if you can, always do the bare minimum in all events to give the farm some diamonds so it can expand slots on machines..
Some great tips rbcrewser, thanks!! :)

Which machines do you recommend me buying/saving up for to be the most self efficient?
android makes it easy to switch from one farm to another on the same device with a click of a button.
I wish apple was as easy...
