player disappeared and has done no tasks

HI Nick I wanted to ask you whether is there any way we could opt out a player that isn't playing derby cuz he opted in and didn't complete any of his tasks and since Tuesday there's no word from him it's like hedisappeared cuz i Don't want remove him from the neighbourhood i want keep him in the team just remove him from the derby . Please reply Nick

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately the only person who can opt out a player is the player himself. There is an automatic opt-out that triggers after a player has been inactive for a few weeks, but that won't help you in the immediate future. If the player drops in occasionally it won't trigger at all.

It is a busy time of year for some people; it may just be that he doesn't have as much time as normal. I have hoodies who only play at weekends, but still manage to do enough tasks. Equally, I have had one or two people join the hood, only to immediately stop playing - I don't understand that one!

If the Derby is important to your hood the best option IMO would be to give him the benefit of the doubt this week - the damage is already done, and he may come back. If there is no sign of him I would kick out before the next Derby starts. When I do that, I change my farm name to something that explains why they have been kicked. For example, "opt out & come back".

After being kicked they can no longer see the chat, but they can see who kicked them, so will get the message if they log on again.

Has he been playing at all or is there NO ACTIVITY on his farm whatsoever. Cause if there's nothing at all, he could be one of the victims of the 'stuck on updating screen' bug, in which case he can't access the game and he's probably just as frustrated as you all are! :(

well since Monday the day the update was there he was active for a few hours but for the rest of the day he didn't show up .until today no sign of him at all.
We don't know weather he loss his game or got banned or is simply busy but he's been with us for many years and usually when he's going on holiday he let's us know but this time he simply disappeared.
He's opted in the derby so due him not doing his part we are lossing the derby even this week .
So there's no way to simply opt him out ?
Is kicking him out the only way ?

Sadly We dont have any weapons as team leaders ,except convince , threat , and thow out Players ! If it is a new player that is no problem thow them out if they misscondoct it will not get better ! But if a player been in the team a long time it is not fun as team leader you have to thow them out ! And you will get criticism anyway you do ,if you do thow them out or not dont matter , you as a leader will get criticism !

No, there's absolutely no way to opt him out or get him opted out by SC. Trust me, it's been the subject of many debates here.

There are still a lot of players who can't get back into the game after the update. On Monday I could access the game immediately without doing the update - all the new stuff was there, but I was chatting here & when I went back the game wouldn't open. I had to close down my iPad & reboot everything to get it to work and was fortunate that it did, others haven't been so lucky.

If it was me in your situation I'd just see what happens this week, then before the next Derby tell everyone that you are not kicking out a good player because they might not be able to access their game, so lower your goal to just getting all the horseshoes and don't worry about winning or whatever. After 4 weeks of not selecting a Derby task he should be automatically opted out, but hopefully he will be in touch before then. I hope he's ok.

The messaging of the player is a bit hit & miss, so personally I wouldn't risk kicking them out & hoping they get a message.

Now might be a good time to get contacts for your NH outside of the game. We use kik as it's Apple & Android, easily downloaded and not connected to social media in any way.

And this is why I don't want to join just any farm!!!! And leaders can opt players out, but I am not a leader, so I don't know how to do it!

I was in a neighborhood and the leader all of a sudden left, I was playing a 2-person derby all by my lonesome for a month, until the leader was opted out, automatically. The leader had medical issues that wouldn't allow her to play. She couldn't even go back in to opt out. I was in that neighborhood for about 5 mos, after that. Then left the neighborhood to make my own, but never did that. So to this day, I haven't been participating in derby. :-/

Issues with the game had pushed me to not create my own neighborhood!
