Everyone is missing an important point in all these wall price reduction argument...
first and foremost, i had almost done all my lavas when the price reduction hit, so I'm sort of in the middle. I don't mind either way, so I'm not on either side. Part of me is actually glad that I won't have to go through all that pumpkin grind like a lot of people did, that being said, I understand the frustrations.
when people use some real life analogies like iphones, xbox, cars, or whatnot, they forget one thing, all these real life products get replaced by the new generations of their own. You don't need to buy an iphone 5 in order to get an iphone 6. Anyone can go to a store and buy an xbox one right away without having to purchase an xbox 360. same with cars. Older generations usually (though not always) hold less value than the newer ones.
However for the walls in coc, every player has to buy each and every single level of walls in order to max them. now every level of walls combined should be considered as a single product. So the value of the final product - max walls - has stayed same, but the total price has reduced.
It's like, say, everyone's building a device that's so shiny and awesome (can dominate the world? or whatever), the device requires multiple parts that one has to work hard to gather. Some people started late so obviously they fall a bit behind, some people don't really care about dominating the world so they don't work hard on gathering the parts. Now some people have tried to be ahead of everyone else and finished building that device, they are proud of their shiny trophy, but all of a sudden, the Creator decides no one needs to work this hard to gather those parts so that everyone who hasn't finished can work not as hard as the ones who have finished. The rest will surely catch up sooner than who have finished expected.
But remember everyone's going to get the same thing eventually, so will the ones who have finished be happy about the change?
This is not a great analogy either, i concur, but i think it's more similar to what we have right now.
EDIT: but i do agree that there's no need to start a petition or something like that. it's a game after all. SC has every right to change the content.
EDIT: a lot of ppl doesn't seem to bother to read the whole post, TLDR: i don't care about the price reduction, i haven't even started pumpkin walls yet. my point is my analogy is bad, but some other analogies in other threads are way worse. period.
This forum is just as toxic as a month ago. Good to know. Thanks, bye.
