Virtually all of you are missing the point here. This change by SC is driving an emotional response from its dedicated player base. May I remind you that last December, much the same thing happened. All of you who are minimizing these very real emotions with "get over it", real world analogies, and other rationalizations are coming across as insensitive clods.
There is real anger and real frustration here. The lack of response from SC, while typical and expected, just exacerbates the situation. Last December, there was a mass exodus of players...that can't be denied. SC is setting themselves up for the same situation this December. I'm not a game developer, but I am a business person, and the last thing I would ever consider doing is taking a conscious decision that annoyed and irritated my most dedicated customers. The insanity of doing so is just something I can not even begin to wrap my head around. The fact that is has been done for two years in a row just makes it that much more incomprehensible.
Stop the real world analogies.
Stop minimizing peoples' emotional responses.

As for previous comments, I do not feel entitled to anything. What I am suggesting is not giving away anything for free. Those players already worked for it!
an "entitled" mentality would be to say "walls are too hard they should be cheaper".
- SC Mod up there ^ still, i doubt there is 30 million players on the forums. I have noticed all the threads, ive kept a pretty close eye on the forums (I really have no clue how many players actively participate on the forums) But just looking at my own clan. I am the only one that even has a forum account. And the other fact that this is an english only forum. What about non English speakers?
So maybe i exaggerated a bit when i said "small percentage". But it certainly isn't the majority of all players on here either.
This forum is clearly all kids under 18 that don't understand how purchases work and no one should be able to get a refund. This is absurd! You paid for a product and a year or two later things go on sale or get cheaper? Has no one here ever played a video game before??!?!? That's like saying hey I bought the witcher 3 with the season pass for $100 and a year later the game of the year edition comes out for $20. You don't go crying to the people who make the game and demand a refund. You paid more to get things early and get ahead faster. Your money was spent the way it was suppose to. I hope they decline every refund.

On the positive side we will have more players, lower entry bars, and more events. On the negative side, ever seen creepy kids looking for girlfriend in this game? Pretty much self explanatory.
