I honestly would recommend HGHB instead of HPHB to get going. Giants are generally easier to control and "go straight." Typical HGHB army (not customized) would be: 10 giants, 4 healers, 1 baby drag, 8 wiz, 14 hogs, 2 archer, 2 heal, 2 rage.
In general, for either HGHB or HPHB, your goal is damn-near singular: Get the bowlers to go straight/into the core, with tanks in front of them. Raged L3 bowlers just rampage TH9 war bases, but those bastiges are a royal PITA to not walk sometimes.
In regards to hogs, one of the keys is to just be patient with them. You want your KS to do some serious work and, correctly funneled, they will. If the attack goes right, you will be releasing most/all your hogs from a single spot to finish off the remainder of the base and you'll have 2 heals to help them through. Correctly done, with either attack, hogs aren't released, in general, until the KS hits the core. This would be much different than, say, a simple GoHo where the guideline was, "AQ and CC down, GO!"
I cannot think of many examples, in literally hundreds of attacks (of both types) where I surgical released my hogs. Just let 'em rip, especially since the GB nerf to hogs
I have been trying to finish a complete walk-through (i.e. an instructional video) of these attacks, especially HPHB, but I'm getting torched at work, so I can't finish it timely.
When you get close to mastering this attack, honestly, you will seldom consider Queen Walk again. Yes, it's that solid :)
