How do I add or inset emojis into my farm name?

I recollect a long time ago this was mentioned in the forum however I can't remember where the thread is.

if someone could direct me that would be most helpful or better still give me a step by step guide.

Having just mastered the insertion of a picture thanks to Wussypuss I thought I'd next try the emoji insertion.

Just bear in mind the website mentioned there isn't fully up to date with what is available as emojis on keyboards. Some of the newer ones you can actually follow a similar method and just use a shortcut with the emoji from your existing device keyboard. For example my farm name includes the Fleur De Lis symbol. It can't be found on that website but it can be entered using a keyboard shortcut.

Thanks for link but I can't get it to work. I can go to emoji.com and can create and copy my new name but then when I go to settings/general/keyboard I get stuck as I don't know where to paste it the only selection I have is keyboard replacement ?

Where do I go from there ? HELP!! I'm on iPad iOS 10

I think my problem is that it's not doing anything in the 'convert text' bit on the website.

On the convert-emoji.com website you have to create the emoji text using the emojis (from the site and in some cases your keyboard emojis work too) and/or text you want. Then simply copy the stuff in the top box.

Go to settings, general, keyboard, text replacement. Click the + sign at the top. Paste what you want in the top box, assign a keyboard shortcut in the bottom box. And then hit Save. Some have more success using caps only for the shortcut. It has never made a difference to me.

NOTE Sometimes the shortcut replacement only appears after you've typed in the assigned letters (e.g. BBB) followed by a space.

Sorry it isn't working. I verified I can still create shortcuts using ios10 and am not having any issues at all.

Success!

I got the alert for the update from ios10 to ios10.2, so I did it & tried again. Easy as.

I now have a lovely farm name.

Hi rbcrewser - I have just followed your updated instructions and hey presto it worked - thanks so much.

Inserting pictures into forum messages and emojis into names - whatever next !!!

It still doesn't work for me, even with iOS 10.2. The shortcut works in the chat area, but not my farm name. It will not replace the text. It just shows my farm name as the shortcut text.

It worked on my Ipad (IOS10) on the first time I tried :) Thank you for the clear instructions!
