Haha, I have heard many a farmer uses this gold search thing.

Oh well yes, under the right circumstances I can believe that. I've seen back to back 300k raids that only need 50 of my troops each...but those circumstances dont happen enough to sustain 12m a day every day.
Let me put it this way, if 12m every day was possible, then more organic farmers would have fully maxed L10 walls. I have close to 65 I think...and I am doing half of what you say is possible...so where are all these farmer bases with maxed L10 walls?
I know of B in iQuit. I also know that 3 months ago, give or take, he had L7 walls...As a full time player of this game, its hard to fathom that level of gold from natural farming alone...but I am keen to learn
I don't think SC specifically monitors farmers. Basically they just see how many people have maxed bases, if it reaches a magic number, they roll out new content, simple as that.
The fact that people who don't spend money can never have a maxed base is just a side effect of the way the game is made, where gems get you the one thing that affect progress the most: time.
So, if a person who don't use gem can have a maxed out base at his own pace, imagine how bored those who spend gem to buy time would feel after they maxed?
Of course they have to roll out new content, because the game needs to progress. And good games progress faster than the average player.
Nope we've not met. But I will come for a visit...maybe we can have a gold run together...no gemming troops, no boosting, just good old raiding :) When are you not pushing?
15hrs of solid raiding will net you 12m a day if 800k is the average...thats basically from the time you wake to the time you sleep - including eating, sleeping, washing, pooping...From a man who plays all day, it is hard to be on this game all the time and able to raid every single 10 mins for 15hrs straight...I honestly try!!
I've farmed in a lot of ranges and fight many hundreds of times per season. Im on over 200 right now with lots of time to go...Of course, this does not count the bases I skip...I have not seen one farmer base with more L10 walls than me and I dont really have all that many. I know the odds are not great but in say the 20,000 bases i've seen since L10 walls have been an option for farmers (ie they had maxed out L9 walls) I should probably have seen at least one base with a load of L10s
Yeah, farming 2 lv 40 heroes for someone who just reaches TH 9 (assuming BK is lv 10 already) would take at least 7.5 months to farm the DE needed if averaging 35K of DE gain per day.
7.7 mil total DE required for BK lv 11-40 & AQ lv 1-40.
As DE storage has a cap of 200k, high cost of hero upgrades past lv 25, and all the dark troops to upgrade, it can only get longer than 7.5 months unless you figure out a way to consistently gain significantly higher than 35k DE per day.
So... better get started as this project takes builder time, unlike walls...
Both of my heroes are going lv 21 but I still have at least 5 months ahead of them to reach lv 40, according to the higher DE cost ahead. Do I think SC will roll out higher hero levels within 5 months? Absolutely! So if I wanna keep up with SC in terms of hero levels, then I have to sacrifice something else - I choose to let go of walls, so I can at least keep up with heroes (maybe!)
Dont forget people raiding you - in order to earn the large DE scores, you need to have a high T count, that means better raiders...I have a max TH9 with a fairly solid layout...still, I lost 3.5k last night to people who used a load of spells to crack my base. I was only at 1800 cups...
EDIT - By spells i mean rages and Jump spells..not lightening...the attackers did very little damage - maybe 30-40% but they got to my middle with enough troops to take out my DE...to put into context, they never got my gold storages...
Yeah people are underestimating hero builder time required to level heroes which will be totally their undoing. At level 15 and above, you will need 7 days each of builder time to level up heroes.... You'll probably would have maxed level 10 walls long before you even get to level 25 of each hero. Also, most people end up with 2-3 sleeping builders before they could get level 20+ heroes.
It's better to have a slow progression on your defenses than to leave yourself with weakling heroes.
EDIT:
Also the obvious solution to lightning on DE is raise your trophy count. You can't DE farm efficiently below 1700 trophies. Enough said, no more arguing.
Also, a decent DE farmer makes 3k-4k DE an hour, enough to negate 4-5 lightning strikes you get in a day.
heres what supercell was thinking.

They were probably thinking something like this: GEEEeeeettt DAAaat MOOOOOONNNNIIIEEeeeee!!
Well SC has made lvl 11 walls, they cant just get rid of them now so why complain? Also its a challenge for those who have everything maxed. If they have everything maxed then what is the point of playing?
We disagree about less than it sometimes seems.
You think walls are overrated. I agree with this. In my opinion the return relative to investment is quite low.
You have posted at various times that heroes are a superior choice. I happen to disagree with this. The opportunity cost of losing heroes for eight+ months of leveling together with the way increased strength is balanced by increased rest time also delivers a low return on investment in my opinion.
I also disagree with the efficiency (if not the viability) of some of your techniques. But we've covered that elsewhere and I'd rather not be part of steering this thread even farther off course.
I agree with your conclusion that farmers shouldn't ignore heroes. I've always advocated investing in both walls and heroes, not because I think they're amazing investments, but because they represent the two major farming sinks in the game. And to ignore the two bottomless sinks doesn't make sense to me as a farmer, although I'd never suggest that everyone needs to adopt the same in-game goals that I accept.
Honestly though, sometimes I think there's a Godwin's law variant at work here in these forums, except that instead of the discussion inevitably returning to accusations of fascism, we home in on a discussion about DE instead. For reference:

thats one of the reasons i believe jorge yao retired. if u feel this way us farmers will always welcome u!
All investments require work, risk, and/or sacrifice. Heroes might take a very long time to upgrade but when it is all said and done, it's game time with all the onslaught they could do (1 shot most buildings while raged, less troops needed while farming, have AQ solo a crappy TH9 base, etc.) Sleeping time of heroes is almost a non factor in high trophy leagues and end game. You will not be able to raid every 15 minutes anymore and you certainly won't make 200 attacks in a season unless you gem. They do help you both in offense and defense and they certainly will lead you to victory against bases that will never ever be cracked using level 10 heroes or below.
Hero levels is an investment made with a foresight to do better in high leveled raiding. Not to mention their HP per second recovery is much better in higher levels, that's why people do them. Oh and the classy graphic changes at level 20 and above. I know several people who want level 20+ heroes just to get those and nothing else....
What about walls? Make your base look pretty and meaner? Intimidation factor? Does it help you on offense? Is an investment with minuscule return worth it? If people raid you with Wallbreakers in high trophy leagues, they would certainly use Rage Spell to make that WB bust through a hole on your base rather quickly regardless of what walls you have.... :P
You know, I'm somewhat casual these days, so take anything I say with a grain of salt. But a couple comments:
TH10 farming does seem a lot easier than it did previously. Now bear in mind that I took a good 6-8 weeks off, but my memory says it's quite a bit easier. I'm unsure why, but I suspect it's some combination of: (1) my camps are now upgraded and larger (2) I carry wbs in my farming loadout, and my wbs got an additional level (3) there are a lot more premature TH10s.
I always hesitate to give firm numbers of gold farm per day because (1) it can be pretty variable day to day based on the randomness of what comes up in your queue, and (2) there's a natural tendency to exaggerate. But I'd say that previously I was really struggling to hit 3-4 million gold a day, but now I can hit 4-5 million a day without too much trouble or feeling like I have to glue myself to my iPad. It's not TH9 by a long shot, but it feels much more doable to me than previously.
I do kind of wish I was further back in the progression curve. Based on my experience in game to date, I suspect the sweet spot for farming is consistently ~3-4 months behind the new content curve.
Hannibal is believable, while SS is not. Simple.
12 million gold a day? How long do you play a day?
Lets assume each raid you earn 300k gold. Some raids are less and some can be more but an average of 300k a raid is very impressive, eespecially at th9.
To reach 12 million you would need to do 40 raids a day.
Now we will also say that the training time between your raids is 15 minutes (which is very fast and your army train time is probably more than this). So at this rate... 40 x 15 = 600 minutes. 10 hours of playing time a day with very ambitious numbers (high loot and short training times). That is a lot. Are you sure you make 12 million gold a day?
I thought SS mentioned in 1 thread that he gemmed quite a bit? He's not exactly an honest to goodness hardworking farmer like the rest of us.
It's hard to make people in this forum not hate you if you used any gems. Doesn't matter if it's from itunes cards given by your grandma, freemyapps, or achievements. If you gemmed in any way, you are a gemmer. CASE. EFING. CLOSED.
The more you deny or make excuses out of it, the more likely people will just keep pushing their hate on you. The best way to deal with this is just ignore them and not mention anything about gemming because either way, you know what's best how YOUR money is spent. :P
Fine. I'll just never help anyone again. I used those 100 gems from achievements and junk to answer someone's question "Is it better to boost or to finish instantly?". I boosted for 45 minutes without spending money to answer their question and came up with the answer "it's not worth it to do either for gold farming".
I'm done helping people if this is the thanks I get for testing something with 100 gems.
Stop picking on the guy and let him play the game the way he sees fit. Jeez.
I'm sorry I admitted to spending $1 worth of gems to answer someones question. I guess it makes me a lying sack of s--- and the spawn of the devil. Here I'll go waste that 2m it got me in the name of research on wasting spells if you want.
I spend so much time clashing. All but 2/3 of one level of one wall is organic on my base. I raid EVERY SINGLE TIME my phone buzzes without fail unless something is burning down. I effectively raid 12-16 hours a day and this is the thanks I get for wanting to help people. All because I propose someone raiding this MUCH. WASTING THIS MUCH OF THEIR LIFE could farm level 11 walls in 6 months time or less.
Gem, not gem, doesn't matter one bit to me. People are having hard time believing that you're making 12mills a day and spending some gems to boost barracks would explain it. If you don't spend any gems and get such loots, good on ya.
Inspect me any time of the day. The barracks boost was a one time thing to answer his question. It was a failed experiment because the profits weren't nearly what the numbers promised.
Edit: I'd quote you but it's starting to crash my browser again.
To clarify. Yes I farm between 10.5 and 13.5 million gold per day. I have a mildly addictive personality and a job and life that allows me the freedom to take out my phone most times of the day. The whole point of me saying a TH10 could farm 7-8m per day is I meant someone like me could do that. Someone with the freedom to clash 90% of the time. Someone so comfortable with their army they can deploy blindfolded.
Really? I sincerely doubt you speak for anybody but yourself, much less the majority of the forums.
The best way to prove this amount of loot is by screenshots... But as somebody just said, if it's true then hey, congrats.
I do have some screenshots. I'll try to get more. I think there's one on my thread of my average 250/250 with 4 giants 10 archers, cc and a few barbs/gobs.
Some members of my clan also have some replays I shared recorded. One in particular I like is one where my last troop died right as it took the last tiny bit of gold/de as it died. Yielding 370/370/800 and 2 star win for half my troops.
On a sidenote....anyone feel like we may know who created an account with one post just to insult me? Hoping we wouldn't notice that the new voice of hatred and slander was just an old one under a different guise? Last I checked multiple forum accounts were against the rules.
There's gotta be some form of hate one way or another or these forums would be flat out boring. In that case, I.HATE.EVERY.SINGLE.ONE.OF.YOU.
:o:o:o /trolollololl
The update doesn't kill the game, can't buy it don't buy it... It's not like supercell is holding the gemmers at gun point, they do it to keep them entartained.
I believe you SS. Hate all the haters. I once farmed 13m in 1 day (th8) and it really was not that difficult. about 9 hours play time with good loot is easy. stop hating on the good farmers plz.
Thanks man. I disagree with Regalia on the hate thing. I love or atleast accept most of you people...even if we disagree. People have watched me farm, I've had people just visit the clan I'm in to watch me and they go insane, or call me a machine or a monster. It's just persistence...if you really want something you will find a way to get it. If you want level 10 or even 11 walls without gems. You will farm your brains out until quantity or quality or both reach an apex. I've had to learn and adapt.
Right, I know a lot of farmers use it. I would just like to point out that a farmer who uses it is inflating his loot per hour, the same way that those top players on the leaderboard were inflating their cup totals with the never-log-off-and-be attacked program.
And if you use the gold search thing and brag about your loot per day, that's like Lance Armstrong bragging he won so much after he juiced.
Don't hate! Spread the love guys! :p
PedroLee need's to come here seriously. Spread love you don't need to be best friends but don't hate each other.
I know that's not the real nameless. I just realized how old that account is...and its one comment ever was ill informed.
and how is my farming superficial if I don't gem?
Sorry buddy, the forumers deem your base unworthy because you gemmed. Thats how people react around here.
I farm 5k DE an hour. Can I get a "Yay"? *hears cricket* god I hate these forums!
Regalia you are the root of the problem. You twisted the truth to fit your own self serving needs. You're actions reflect those associated with you. I have nothing more to say to you.
Flip has a point. I guess Regalia hates themself.
You forgot to point out my pirate flag and mighty statue too. Fear my gemming epicness. Btw, Y U GUYS MAD THO? I was being sarcastic and funny in this whole thread..... lol :p
I didn't find it funny. Not many people did. Only you and the other children.
This has gone way off topic.
