World Map for clans and bases

I would love to see a world map incorporated where clans can fight not only for stars and loot but territory. I know there are thousands of clans and it's a huge undertaking but a world map can constantly be expanded making growth infinite. For this idea I dont envision a circular map like that of earth but a 2d map that always expands in all directions like the universe. In this way old and new clans can find land to occupy. In wars you can expand your empire or fight other clans for a portion of their land. Like I said it would be a huge undertaking but I think it would be cool to make a clans 'space' less etheral.
