We need a new derby league above championship

Supercell, please consider adding another derby league above championship. As you know, there are so many neighborhoods that are crazy about derby with rules for members regarding how many tasks must be completed, how many tasks must be 300+ point tasks, etc.

I'm not in one of those neighborhoods. We try hard and usually win all the available horseshoes but the teams that finish in the top three are so far ahead it's ridiculous. There is no hope of finishing top three with these teams around.

To me the solution is to create another league above championship perhaps called Elite League. These derby crazy teams could be put there giving everyone else a chance. Right now my neighborhood is stuck. Too good to drop to Expert and not nearly good enough to win where we are. Another league would solve this problem.

Just curious how it would work. If the hard core teams move up by winning, then you would move up soon after, by winning. Another league would be nothing more than that: another league. Seems you would be doing the same thing in a week or two.

I recently started a new nh. I found that the lower 2 or 3 leagues were not actually derby leagues at all. Gold was won without any effort. Even professional league was an easy gold with no extra tasks and even short a few other tasks. Champions is the only league where effort/diamonds is needed to win.

I would say a better option would be to remove 2 or 3 leagues so there is one where players derby and one where they don't.

I would see it as move up from pro to champions league level 1.
The next move us to champions level 2 and so on
The number of leaves us dynamic there are as many as are needed so the top level has 15 neighbourhoods or less
To ensure a pyramid structure it may be necessary to make it harder to climb to the next level than to slip back ... maybe only the winner is promoted, three bottom scorers move down ...

No extra prizes for higher levels - just the glory, maybe extra tasks though.

Probably have to model it in excel or something to ensure it would work.

I totally agree with some kind of 'Elite' league ... provided it is fair and have different set of rules:

1) All tasks are 320 points, you cannot discard any, you have to take one to have another new one,
2) No possibility to buy 'extra tasks' (which is the most unfair feature of the derby especially in the Pro league),
3) Use of diamonds prohibited (You cannot call a boat early or 'complete' a townie who is stuck in Bed & Breakfast),
4) Top 5 teams who reach the maximum (12 tasks @ 320 points for example) can choose their special derby rewards,
5) You gain access to the Elite league if you are in the top 3 of the Pro league, you play it once, then you go back to the Pro league.

My wife (level 103) and I (level 83) are playing in the Pro league for more than 20 weeks (mind you, this is nearly half a year) and we have 2 Gold / 6 Silver / 3 Bronze cups ... but only 7 special derby rewards, 2 of them are duplicates.

Sometimes we can see some teams doing 2 x (9 + 1) x 320 points tasks (6400 points) in less than 2 days :eek:

If others can do it, so can you. They don't have any advantage over you - they just play either more strategically, or with more diamonds.

Then, as Clancy already said, you'll win in CL and get moved up to Elite. You then have to set out to lose in Elite to get moved back into CL - especially if you're trying to get the Achievement.

It would be no different to Expert & CL surely?

It's one option, but the lower leagues are quite for new NH's to cut their teeth on & get some trophies.

Before the CL was released we were told it would be different, something new & exciting no, but it wasnt, it was just another tier of the same old thing.

Something totally different would be great, but it needs to be optional so those wanting to work on the Achievement can stay in the CL (I presume from your 9+1 comment you actually mean the Championship League, not the Professional League?)

I like your ideas 1-4, not so keen on 5, I think if you place you should stay there.

However, 2 & 3 won't happen as they are *very* good revenue streams for SC.

There are LOADS of threads about how to complete the Derby quickly, without using loads of diamonds. I mostly do it in 5-10 minutes, sometimes up to an hour, an hour & a half max (if I've chosen a crop task such as rice). The only diamonds I spend are 10 for the 10th task.

Yes it is Champions League ... I wrote the message around midnight ... half asleep !

You should consider this Elite league as a reward for the top 3 of the Champions league ... so you go up, you play 1 week, grab your rewards (that you can choose, instead of relying on the random generator and your luck) and then go back to Champions league.

Maybe 2 & 3 won't happen, but consider the strong incentives of this Elite league on the player of the Champions league ... what they might 'loose' in one place may be balanced by the gains in another place.

Frankly, if there is no change to the derby, once I get my achievement (17 more to go) I will opt-out. The derby as it is now is really unfair and frustrating. I do play the game to relax and enjoy myself, not to be stressed !

I really do not fancy the game companies that try to squeeze out the $s out of your wallet like SC or UbiSoft ... I might as well go back to play The Witcher 3 on my PS4 which is far more satisfying :)

As I said, I like your idea. I really like it.

However, I think it should be optional to go up to Elite OR count towards the Achievement.

Why do you think the Derby is unfair as it is? I really don't get that. Everyone has the same opportunities and it's possible to win only spending the 10 diamonds for the extra task. I came second last week and second this week, both times by about a minute. Last week a friend distracted me and this week I was just too slow collecting the last finished item - which was sitting there, I was just faffing. Had I been paying attention I could have won both weeks, having spent 10 diamonds. What's unfair?

I was HANGING out to get the Achievement so I could stop playing the Derby...but as you can see, I'm still playing XD I really want the water trough & the pink flag!

I really hope SC like that idea too :)

Just imagine you are running a 100 m sprint ... you run and run to reach the finishing line ahead of everybody else ... when you are about to reach the finishing line ... just a few meters away ... the runner next to you take a 100$ out of his wallet and pay the run organizer to push the finishing line 10 m further ahead of you ...

... and you have to pay 100$ too so you can stand a chance to cross the finishing line.

The extra task makes the derby totally unfair !

It means that the winners on the podium does not reflect the actual 'skills' of the team ...

... but anybody can be a winner if he is willing to spend diamonds ($s). So as I mention above, I will most certainly abandon the derby once I got my achievement !

I agree with HejePi on unfairness of derby. My hood does all 9 task all above 300 with average of 313. A few does 10th task as they like to but not required.
I personally can not as I'm disabled & on fixed income which does not allow for extravagant things (in game purchases like fake diamonds) as is many in my hood (fixed incomes). We bust our behinds to win but are up against hoods that all do 10th task all above 320. This Derby was very depressing. Came in 13th & demoted! We did all 9 task all over 310! But looking at the other hoods there was no way we could place!!! And it has only gotten worse over several weeks.
I agree the there should be another level these hoods can go to to complete properly leaving hoods like mine to complete with like hoods properly also.

That analogy isn't correct.

The 10th task isn't a 'backhander' (bribe) it's available to everyone in the CL and is not a surprise at the end, it's available every single Derby.

It doesn't make it unfair - it's an option everyone can choose.

Everyone can easily get 10 diamonds a week playing HD. It is up to each player to chose how to spend them. I choose to spend them on the 10th task.

I don't buy diamonds to play HD. I never 'pay to play' because I like the challenge of not buying my way out of problems. (I couldn't care less what others do).

I choose to buy diamonds to support HD and buy Deco.

So, you have the same chance of winning as anyone else. You just need to choose to spend your EARNED (not bought) diamonds in the 10th task. If you choose not to, you can't complain 'it's not fair', you had the same opportunity as everyone else.


Besides that, IF this was to be implemented, it really wouldn't change the chances of you winning the CL because people would be playing to get into the Elite grade that are content to just sit in the middle if the CL now. Swings & round abouts. I just like the idea of a different part of the game, played in a slightly different way, for a change...and of course, the opportunity to choose the prize I'd like.
