Improvements to army training.
First of all - I like the new training system introduced in October, and I am grateful for it. I think it could be even better though:
Full refund when deleting a trained troop or spell.
This is to enable retraining which can be prohibitively expensive. I almost never dump a raiding army to retrain for a friendly challenge, instead the retraining cost puts me off requesting a friendly challenge. Aw that's a pity. It would also mean we don't have to worry about the wrong troops popping off the queue so much as we could delete wrong troops and get a refund.
Just ask yourself whether you change 'live' spells as freely as you change queued spells.
Yes it would enable folks to 'hide' double the resource they can now, but that really shouldn't be an obstacle because:
- The amounts that can be hidden are insignificant. The extra dark I could hide eg by training 8 max golems, is 6000 dark. Well that's not very much when most TH10 upgrades cost around 100k dark, or the 'cap' amount is 70k dark. Only 4% of dark can be stolen at Th10 anyway so on 6k thats... 240 dark. Wow.
- The amount that could be hidden in camps plus queue in the new system is still less than could be hidden in the old (pre October) system, where we could hide about 6 golems and 16 dragons
Pre-trained troops should replace the troops used in battle regardless of their position in the queue. It seems intuitive to me, that if I have 4 healers in my camps, and 4 trained in my barracks, and go on a raid and use just the 4 healers, that I should come back to base and the 4 healers I used should be replaced in my camps, regardless of where the healers are in the queue. Obviously at the moment I arrange my queued troops in the order I am most likely to use them. But that's just a guess I make based on the types of bases I come across most often, and sometimes I do end up with 20 wall breakers which is not ideal.
Quick train should 'fill in the missing troops'
This is similar to pre-trained troops replacing what gets used in a battle. Lets say I go raiding and don't use all troops. It would be wonderful if I could just come back to the quick-train and click 'army 1' and it would fill in the missing bits to complete that army - say the 4 healers.
Instead of 'quick train' have 'target army'.
We could combine the best bits of ideas 1, 2 and 3 into something even better! May we not design a 'target army', and whenever we click the 'train this army' button the game can queue up whatever is missing in our camps and queue to achieve that army? It could even delete wrong troops because of the full refund! That would streamline things even more and get me back to raiding instead of managing barracks and queues.
Quote from Supercell about the October update:
"Clash training is an old system with a LOT of quirks. Multiple queues, training capacities, timers, tabs and more tabs - there has to be a better way! Reducing unnecessary complexity is what our design value of Simplicity is all about..."
