Curious if anyone else gets nervous when attacking in war? I mean, I'm confident in my planning and how I attack and usually do well but when I click that attack button I get nervous as anything. I swear, war attacks stress me out more than paying bills. Am I alone here?

It is like you feel this responsibility that your attack may decide whether your clan wins or not... Feels terrible but also great when you score 6 stars....
Man i feel like im gonna have a heart attack when I attack in war! My hands shake and it's just awful! At least it's a good way to know that I'm alive haha.
But in the end, it's just a game, everyone will forget your raid and the results of the war, whether win or loss, and you move on the next one. And, if you fail or don't reach expectation, you have the learning experience of what went wrong.
I get most nervous when doing a dip, or at least hitting a base that looks easy. The worst feeling is when you can't get the 3* and another person with the same troops comes in behind you and cleans it up.
All the time. Something about being put on the spot where everyone can see me eff up I guess. If you have a tendency to panic drop troops or spells, what's really helped me was pushing in the higher leagues. I know that it's not the same as war but you don't have the ability to scout and the frequency at which you have to attack may help you to acquire a calm patience when something goes wrong. It worked for me anyways.

Yes. You can study what each unit should do, but in the end, unit AI sometimes surprises you. For example, your Pekkas or valkyries ignore your carefully planned funnel and go chasing off around the base.

Yep. I do. Trying to get over it. Nothing worse than double tapping a spell or forgetting to put your cc in where it was supposed to go because you are so nervy.

Every time. That's why I enjoy warring so much. It's that rush of adrenaline that kicks in as you know others are relying upon your performance and are going to see everything you did right and wrong..

I can hit 3 stars for fun with 30 secs prep time in raids.... gimme 23hrs looking at a war base and I'm a nervous wreck :)
Of course, because I'm the leader I'm under more pressure if I fail...so I can get a little extra nervous! I'm the first to admit I'm not a pro at war, but the adrenaline is great! Love war.
Sure do! Even more so if it's a new attack i'm trying or it's a really important attack and we can't afford a screw up. That thrill when you pull it off is awesome and yet that crushing blow of defeat can drive a man to tears haha. Not really but takes a little bit to cool off.
I always make sure I have a clean pair of diapers on before I even look at the attack button......have to change them like 3 times before I ever click it.....
If I'm attacking a hard base for the win I get as nervous as a promiscuous woman at a old fashioned tent revival.
This is it for me, the longer I stare at a base the more worst case scenarios(no matter how outlandish) I dream up until I've totally psyched mtself out. Being at the top of the map doesn't help either...Quote:

You are most definitely not alone. At times my hands shake and palms become sweaty when about to hit a war attack! It can be very nerve-wracking, especially in a pressure war.Quote:

OP i believe this is the reason for alot of No war and farm war clans. Some people hate that pressure. I also suffer from this affliction.
Better since 9.5 get easy matches but you never can tell.
Yes but not as much now since it's so hard to 3 star at 11. I like to knock back a drink or 2 to relax a little.

3 years playing this game. Hands still shake especially dipping. The starting part of the attack is the most crucial part for me where jump, poison, rage & warden eternal tomb need to be timed just nicely. heck, my heart is still pumping after the attack.
Maybe that's why I am still playing this game. 😬
Hahahhahahaha. Here I am thinking I'm alone..... Especially when it comes down to your attack deciding the star needed to win... I click attack and my first thought is.... "holy batman here we go" and my nerves go thru the roof. Nothing feels better than hitting that perfect 3 star.
Only if I am using air attack because of their need for perfection. The placement of single archer can make 3 star a 2 star
yes but its dependant on the sittuation for me if im hitting above my weight or taking on a suspicious layout ppl with maxed heroes and 5 builders also scare me also doing scout attacks are just the most nerve wrecking
I used to be more nervous, then I realized that a major part of war prep is have a plan if something goes wrong. What if your funnel isn't wide enough? What if you tap the royal cloak ability just as the drag you lured out of the cc roasts her into flames and then heads after the healers?
Most importantly: what if, despite all your preparations, you fail and end up with a 1 star? What will you tell your clanmates? How will you explain your wretched attack? Answering that question will lead you to profound new truths and a new way to view the world. When my attacks fall short of 3 stars (esp. those pesky 97-99%), there's only one person to blame: my pathetic L32 Archer Queen! She isn't L40 yet, obviously her being under-levelled explains virtually every hiccup in a war attack, and really does explain away all those inconvenient 97-99% I've had in war. Once I get her to 40 I'll blame it on my L21 BB-King. Once he's maxed I'll need a grand warden to point the finger at. By then I'll be TH11 and just be able to say look, no one expects us to 3-star our mirrors, and have no further need of a good scapegoat.

What I do to get ready for a war attack is to do a couple of looting runs with that same war army and get used to the order of deployment. My worst fail lately was spending 2 hours farming with bowler+healer with CC giants, then I went to do a war attack and deployed my CC hogs directly after the wallbreakers :facepalm:
I have 4 accounts in war. The TH8 is okay stress free. But my TH9's are the ones that cause me most stress. I plan replan check double check. We do daily wars and it's the same thing every damn time. War attacks get my adrenaline pumping haha.
Terribly nervous...Missed quite a few jump and eq spell drops from shaky hands lol.
Now that it's very difficult (read impossible for me) to three star a max town hall 11, the pressure is off. Just need two stars and preferably a high percentage.

the first time i attacked in clan war i wad shilvering like a freeze dog, till now I'm still very nerves, cause i'm one of top guys on the clan that my attack is often important, especially when there are eyes watching (that feeling is terrible). truthfuly to say, to attack in war feel like being tortured, but the fear its self makes this game addicted.
Always.. Unless I am cleaning up a TH lower..
I still get ridiculously nervous and I've been playing for 3 years. Since friendly challenges though I just ask my clan mates to let me hit them ask few times to ease the tension. Really works well for me.
Absolutely agree! I try to wait until they get their first star before I start watching though as I don't want to add any pressure. But when I see a team member do well it's the best part of the war.Quote:

I'm a max th10 and most of the time am matched against other high th10 or low th11... and man, it is HARD to 3 star on a consistent/semi consistent basis for me at that level.
Always get nervous.
But still ,its just a game, unlike life in which you do not have many chances.
Word. Now instead of nervousness, I actually look forward to seeing how ♥♥♥♥♥♥edly insane the defensive strength of th10 is against my max th11 attack strength. Yeah I do especially because I'm the top player in my clan so Im always attacking the thier top and wars are sometimes won or lost based off it. I find my best attacks are when I go in not caring if I 3 star because war is already won or lost regardless of how I do. But then if it's lost I feel like I wasted a good raid. 😂
I have a problem in war. I get so stressed that I too often screw up. :(

I'll echo what has already been said multiple times - yup for me even after 2 1/2 years of playing. It's a form of stress no different from other peer pressure endeavors. When you are part of a team and you feel you must contribute numerically to an end result, the stress levels will rise. Especially when other members of the team are watching live. No one who cares at all will want to let their teammates down. It's normal.

I sweat rivers before war attacks. I'm surprised I haven't ended the drought here in California yet.
I get so nervous for like 20 minutes that I pop a Tylenol from the headache. After the 2 or 3 minute battle I wonder why I get stressed. Every. Time.

I get nervous when its my first attack on a clan. You have never attacked there and you don't want to fail. I also get nervous when I upgrade the th. Even with better troops, you need to get used to them and some things change.
My bad bad day was when my clan is counting on me to hit no 1 and when the battle started, I realized I didn't bring enough earthquake spells.
There is no restart button but a failed button or something. Result in 1 star. Yup I went under a rock and hide. 😑

Nervous is a understatemant for me, but somehow that button gets pushed each war no matter if its a 3 or not, what has made it worse though is the eyeballs popping up on the screen, like really, a audience to perform for....

Very, very few people can honestly say they don't get nervous in Clan Wars. If it's a pressure attack, in a tight war, where's the fun if you don't care about the result? If you care about the result then of course you will be nervous...nobody likes to fail in public. I have watched people with well over 1000 war stars cowering in chat looking for a chance to sneak in an attack while nobody is watching then run for a dark corner when it goes wrong.
It's totally normal. Just try to breed a clan atmosphere where people feel confident enough in your back up that they come back to chat so you can pick them up again.
I couldn't agree more. Before I found my permanent clan, I would be VERY nervous in my first clan war attack in the new clan. You want to show that you're a valuable asset and not butcher an attack lol so I'd always get sweaty palms.Quote:

I've been warring for about two years and I still get nervous. When I first started I was always extremely nervous but the years of doing this has helped ease that slightly.
Agreed, years of war has helped the feeling but it's 100% still slightly there. I get more nervous on my th9 vs. my th10
O yea, even after playing for 2 years, I still get nervous depending on situation.
Friend of mine told me he gets so worked up on a war attack, his mom had to ask him if he was ok. She was visiting and never seen him before a war attack. Thought he was having a heart/panic attack, lol! Once she found out what it was about, she laughed. She said she couldn't believe a game could do that to a 36 year old man. Was classic.
Reading most posts admit players get stressed out before a war attack...is this stress because of having to deal with super cell nerf`ing of troops to be useless ...or super cell ai of the game ...or my attack skill is in doubt ....where is the stress is from .....my stress is mostly unsure of the survivability of the war troops to get a star these days...
OP I think it's clear that it's JUST YOU . EVeryone else has nerves of steel and never worry about anything ( wink)
i get a bit bit nervous in the key attacks but when dipping my th9 to crush a th8 I don't get the slightest bit sicne the attack is so automatic . On tricky th9 I get worried and go through about 50'plans lol
i used to get nervous but i don't really get that feeling anymore unless it's a one star war and i absolutely have to get the 3 star on that th10 or the 2 on the th11.
there are a lot of people in my clan that definitely get really really anxious though
Same here. Especially when attacking strong th9/9.5 as th10 where failing is not an option.
On the positive side, I noticed that this stress helps me to focus better.
I fail more often when there is no need to perform then when my attack is crucial to win the war.
How do you experience this? Has stress a positive or negative effect on the quality of your attacks?
Nervousness is good because it shows you have passion for the game and want the outcome even more, I am the same but try and remain calm. One thing one of our co leaders said is to turn volume on for attacks if not already so you are alerted when cc troops are triggeredQuote:

I have a mini as well and don't get any sort of buzz attacking in wars...
For me, it's the implied pressure to perform well when you sit high on the roster.

Always! Nerves are paramount to either an epic clutch 3 star or the dreaded 49% 0 star.
I prepare with either a few friendly challenges on a clanmate, or a couple of multiplayer raids using war army comp.....or by scrolling thru forums looking for posts to reply to....hmmm...😐
Cleanups and those attacks that decide the war are especially stressful, but normal attacks give me butterflies too :p

With around 850 stars, I still get nervous.... every. single. time. hahahah
I just get so nervous that I sometimes even fail an attack and then get roasted by my clan mates.
