Is [5,0,0] -> [10,0,0] -> [30,30,0] -> [40,40,20] for hero progression not a relic?

I think I read the sample idea you mentioned above (20/20 at th9, reverting to 30/30 or whatever is done when the townhall upgrades) and I state again this would be plain unfair. You have said it yourself that it is a difficult/tedious process (interpretation only; not the same words) but you again suggest to take that result away from the people who underwent the difficult process.
There have been similar opinions about troops also I think. It is easy to bring something to lower townhall level but taking it above a townhall and stripping it from those who have done it shouldn't happen.

I think the biggest issue I see is most th9s have builder's and lab dead for th9 at th10 heros building's and walls are done and you still have 7-8 months lab time (the two are almost exact opposites). If they pushed some of those big 14 day troop ugs to th9 it would allow more people to max th9 without feeling as though they are wasting time in their lab waiting for their walls and hero's to finish at th9. Thus forcing them to rush to th10 with inadequate heros. Win/win....

I wasn't suggesting anything. I was just mentioning this case to clarify this exact issue. It's obvious that it wouldn't work and that's what I even stated.
There are other ways that don't involve "taking something away". And that's the tough work, to find the way that's best for both existing and new players.

I really don't see any problem. As has already been stated, there is no rule saying you need to max your heroes at th9.

Yes, if you choose to stay at th9, and get those shiny 30/30s (I did ). Your builders will be a lazy bunch towards the end.
But many people move up as soon as their defense/lab max out, or even earlier.

It's only a problem, if you perceive it as an obstacle to upgrading your TH. Which it certainly is not.

Edit to answer Q#2. That would really depend on how this "smoothening " would take place.

Th9 is fine, I ly problem like someone else mentioned is the dead lab time.

I finished my 250 lv 10 wall while king was going to lv25, queen was allready done. I upped th the moment last wall finsihed.

I had the new new bt qued to lv 3 amd new wizards in lab while upping.

The time of royals vs buildings/walls is almost perfect timing. I see it in general, of th9 finishing walls with 5-7 total lvls of royals left.

This... SC can't take away upgrades so just either add more levels for TH11 or decrease upgrading time at TH9 drastically.

I'm a TH9 I'd love the decreased time, it's such a drag with these heros. I always find myself just holding on to DE so that I can enjoy my heros together for a while

Let's look at it from the opposite (sorry I'm a math pleb, we do it that way):
Assume we wouldn't lower the levels but instead increase it to 40/40 on TH9.
Would it be good? Would it be bad? No Problems at all?
Basically you can still argue, that it would be your choice to go all way.
But there are reasons that this is not the case. There is a reason we are upgrading THs to go beyond limits.
Is 30/30 the sweet spot now? I dare say no and I doubt this would be the case, if SC didn't intend to give the formerly maxed TH9 something to grind, some content.

Now it's clear that sometimes doing nothing is the best decision. That's why I didn't wanna discuss about exact changes that need to be made anyway.

The only way SC could make an adjustment would be to the time reduce the overall time 15-30 level hero's take.

There is no way to change the TH9/ hero level the game is to old and to many players have high level hero's for Th9.

If the down time was less both he lab walls and hero's could complete near the same time.

The biggest issue I see is the imbalance between TH8 and TH9 builder/lab time.

It's fairly easily solved by going to TH9 once your buildings are done at TH8 and pushing some of the TH8 lab time into TH9.

If the hero grind is a problem for you at Th9 then just go to 10 when you run out of lab stuff.

Just don't complain about not being strong in war because you neglected heroes while others grinded them out.

Honestly this game is a freaking marathon the lab time alone if you never let it go dark and don't gem it is over 3 years now if I recall correctly. If some THs are slightly out of balance along the way is that really a big issue?

Sure if they were starting over they'd probably change some things but I doubt they have plans to do that.

To be fair, I didn't think much about the walls, since I didn't experience the 1-2 level difference of walls not as much as a game changer as I see the heroes.
I don't remember exactly how far my progress (lab/heroes/walls) when I upped to th10 was, I know for sure, that my defenses were maxed out far too quick.

I didn't really think about it that way, but this would a nice way to both target the issue and not change the current hero level distribution at all.
