How do you use minions?

Im quite new to coc and have no idea how to use minions. I dont know what exactly their for either. Are they even good?

There's a quite popular farming strategy called BAM (Barbarians, Archers, Minions), you could try google that for guides and videos. And I remember seeing a mass minion attack (54 minions total) in last weeks CWL, TH9 vs TH9:

I rarely use them myself.

Some thoughts:

If farming for pink elixir, you can use them instead of archers.

In an air raid, they can follow balloons to clean up the non-defense buildings.

For extra percentage points, you can use them as pickers to take down a structure that would be within the range of a canon or mortar but not an anti-air defensive building.

I love minions

I use them on my TH7 to farm Dark when updating my King.
I use 28 loons ad 30 minions under rage to just get to the dark storage and steal it.
Since minions are cheap I can farm dark elixir from TH8 using this strategy

For war attacks I frequently use minions to snipe any exposed defenses and/or buildings that I can use to create a funnel. I often find myself bringing 2-4 of them for many war comps and using them to help direct a queenwalk, or clearing a bunch of collectors, etc. You'd be surprised at how many folks leave a cannon or a mortar exposed where a single minion can nab it (spend some time scouting the base to see if you can find a weakness) :thumbsup:

I only use them in war. They are great for funneling and clean up behind my hogs or kill squad. Occasionally I use them to pull a cc for my kill squad on a clean up attack.

I take a couple for war. They are awesome for clean up.

Minions are great for creating funnels near cannons
