Donating for level up - Jerk or Tactic

Why not find a clan that really likes giants in their CC? Then everyone is happy....

There are 10-15 giant/healer raiders in my clan that request nothing but giants....

Simply join clans that don't have a description saying "No giants" or whatever, and then donate to all the people who don't have a specific request. There should be plenty that fit this criteria.

Sure this takes a few extra seconds to verify, but that would be the socially conscious thing to do.

Remember this post references donating troops to folks who have specifically indicated they do not want those type of troops. This is a separate issue from joining any old inactive clan and donating.

Worrying about what a person requested in a dead clan is hilarious.. Their own clan mates dont care to donate what they have requested but you want to criticize members for going around filling those dead clans to complete an achievement or gain xp. Still not getting the point these people will never receive troops if it was not for people doing this. I've visited 1 clan once a day for a week everytime I entered there was atleast 20 requests sitting with no donations..am i supposed to care what they requested 2+ days ago lol!

Funny thing about this thread is the people defending members who play in dead clans and most likely only play clash once a day for 5 minutes not filling their teammates then request and logoff!

I queue 200 Archers and fill my barracks with them for nonstop donating and hopping. It boosted me from Level 61 to 63 in about a day, but I knew I was going to be inactive for most of it so I took my litttle time to clan hop

Give them what they want lol most of these dead clans have the most rediculous requests asking for pekkas n drags with no one in the clan able to make them and with the last update im sure they added witches to that list and you want me to be considerate of that ♥♥♥♥. If they didn't care what they got, they wouldn't make a specific request.

Active players who care about the troops they ask for are not in dead clans number 1 and 2 would not be waiting days for a simple request that obviously their clan is ignoring! So for a player going around max filling those who never get troops u consider that treating them like ♥♥♥♥..

I am one of the people who Have "NO GIANTS" on their request due to there in ability to defened, i do not go round and do this cuase i know how fustraiting it can be, hence i feel that this is a jerk move

Obviously i did this before they even came out with a chat donation box and even before they started making troops count for troop space instead of 1 troop even if its a drag worth 20 spaces. I can easily visit these dead clans and take pics cuz they are not hard to find! Once you request for troops, people can give u ANYTHING, regardless of the message in your request.

Requesting for troops means u open up ur clan castle and risk getting troops that you don't want.

Personally i minimize that risk by being in a good clan. Those who don't, too bad.

Does it make u a jerk? Of course. You are doing something that others dun like, based on reasonable assumptions. But hey, so is stealing other ppl's resources.

If its a dead clan that has had tones of non filled requests, do it, its helpful and its a tactic.
But if its a clan that regularly donates and requests then give them what they ask for and its tactic, its only jerk move if you give someone something that they didn't want in a active donating clan.

Dead clans yet people are requesting everyday? However it is a mute point, donating Giants to someone who does not want them and has said so is inconsiderate. I'm sure in your mind you can do no wrong, you proudly proclaim yourself a clan hopper; do you get a cape?

your story keeps changing and now you claim you did this months ago, is there an expiration on bad behavior?

The difference is no one is claiming they are being helpful by attacking people. Here people are claiming that they are somehow helping people see the light with their Giant donations.

Yeah I got that awhile ago as well, donating to my clanmates, we do drags and archers for the most part so it was pretty easy.

I don't disagree with Drags, wizards are cool to if level five or four. However Pekkas a tricky one sucks as bad as giant on defense and if you don't know its in your castle will prob suck on offense as well because she likes to go in the opposite direction of the battle and goodies.

Conversations about Giants though not drags and wizards, and if someone said no drags then it would be a sucky move as well however that doesn't come up very often like no giants does.

What if i requested "archers please", and you donate wizard or dragons?

I would give you a warning then boot, for the second and third one, first one happens all the time but our clan policy is arch-barb-drag-pek-min-wiz or ask first

And that's the whole argument its doing what people expect and ask for and respecting those wishes. Not going against them because you disagree. Lots of clans out there mate easy to find one that you will fit in with:cool:

I'm pretty sure the topic is on joining clans which are open to anyone, donate giants, and then leave. So getting booted is hardly the consequence.

So, with that premise, what if i join a clan at random, and then donate dragon to a request that says "archers only"? Is that a jerk move?

well that's getting pretty deep into hypotheticals but yeah if someone is specific it may be for a reason, possibly they have a revenge in mind or want to make a video for a mano a mano and a drag would break the rules. Like I said we are venturing into hypotheticals now.

Ya, I've done this before when a friend and I had a bet for first to get to lvl 100. I always donate as requested in my own clan, but when I was doing this I didn't care. I even found requests that went back more than a couple days so I really didn't feel bad. And also I was donating lvl 6 giants to ppl in clans that probably didn't even have lvl 3 or 4 so they should be happy if u ask me.

We all understand the issues and what you want to accomplish. But go back and read the first post again. The people donating giants to inactive clans are not "generous."

If you were interested in helping people, you'd actually help people. Throwing a bunch of giants in week-long empty clan castles is about as helpful as throwing a dollar in somebody's yard without telling them. You're not into it to help people, you're trying to gain gems/levels, so claiming generosity is ridiculous.

I never claimed I was doing it out of kindness I'm simply stating that they win, I win everybody ends up happy I dont see why its such a big deal

Alternatively you could give the fisher price baby toys to the kids who want them which helps your public image and makes them happy.

Yep because you filled up the bin with books that the orphanage workers now have to go in and clear out and dispose of because the kids want toys and not books. Furthermore, after you crammed the bin full of books, a bunch of people who came by to donate toys found the bin full and simply left.

I once went on a donation run. He clans i joined were anyone can join and the members were all noobs. Now lets see. What's better, level 2 archers or level 5 giants? I remember being th6 being donated level 5 and 6 giants sometimes and I would dominate in both attack and defence. They have such high power. The reason they don't say they want giants is because even if they say level 4+ some idiots will just skim read it and not see the level req, and there you get giants. It's better than some other hopper joining and donating wb :rolleyes:

the thing some of you people don't understand is if you don't donate level 5+ giants in anyone can join noob clans they will probably get worse by other people.

I dislike this analogy. For one, giants are not "expensive toys", the "expensive toys" would be the wizards and the dragons, but your not donating them are you?

It's like your giving a kid socks (giants) for his birthday. The child asked for a new game console(wizards, dragons) but you decided to give him clothes, you could say its better than giving him nothing however this is still kind of being a jerk. The least you could have done is given the child some nice toys (archers) that he wouldn't actually mind.

I also side with the fact that you only donate what is requested, its not up to you to decide whether or not they will be happy with giants as they have not asked for giants.

Good hearing from such a well respected name here! Well several things 1. Daddy was the one who told me to do it! And 2. I used it to go up 2 levels not a crime...

IF you're in a clan where "anyone can join" and you have a req that hasn't been filled for over 24hrs, then you should take what you can get. That is all...

Good strategy tbh Levels are pointless otherwise, and gives a reward for people that donate!

If the kid has been begging a new game console several years yet got nothing at all, I would say a few socks would still be a good. I recently hopped a clan, and filled a request that is 8 days old! Think about that. I don't feel those people can complain anything.
And, I don't give out high level troops like dragons to unknown clans. Never sponsor your potential enemy. Dragons are for my own clan only.

The least you could have done is given the child some nice toys (archers) that he wouldn't actually mind.

I also side with the fact that you only donate what is requested, its not up to you to decide whether or not they will be happy with giants as they have not asked for giants.

Can we please stop comparing orphans/kids to people in inactive clans, it bears no resemblance. While I do agree somethings in coc can relate to "real life" (i.e. patience and strategy) who cares what you give people in their cc when it's been open for days. Yes it is "courteous" to give people "what they want," but at the end of the day, he isn't breaking any rules. If OP was going into active clans then you would kick him, case closed. I've followed this thread a bit and I'm shocked to still see it active.

If you don't like it, don't do it. If you do, continue on. End of the day nothing illegal or rule breaking has been done, and let's all remember it's just a game, not Christmas time with kids.

If you go to a noob clan with low TH players.. they should be happy with lvl 6 giants in my opinion. At their level those giants make a huge difference!

As far as I'm concerned, exp level doesn't mean anything to me except an approximate "level" of time you spent, etc. I guess it's tactic, if exp matters a lot to you.

I used to always ask for giants; I use them often in attacking because I use the healer-giant combo.
