Any tips for defending against witches?

Yeah, I understand that many feel they are OP, but surely there are ways to minimize their damage. The things I can think of off of the top of my head are:
-Centralized mortars
-Well-placed (lucky) giant bombs

Anyway, my base just isn't working against them. Here is a pic of it:

Overall, the base has done well. I designed it primarily to try to combat GoWiPe, and it has done fairly well against it to be honest. It has lost 4 times. 3 of those were at the hands of witches, and one of those attacks 3 starred me. I haven't been 3 starred since someone mass drag attacked me when I was TH 8. Honestly, it is a little startling. Any tips are appreciated.

Are some of those x-bows pointing to the air? Perhaps pushing X-bows out a bit further as ground only to cover A LOT of outside area you could kill a heap of witches before they spawn too many skeletons?

Only a theory as I'm a lowly TH8 who was totally pwned by them twice on my last trophy push. I felt the only way I could have stopped it would be that x-bow theory. And I have to upgrade my hall to try it...

Unless of course you want to try random luck with scattered giant bombs and teslas outside your base.

All xbows have been set to ground. They just can't stop them.

I switched to this while trophy hunting. I got hit with 18 level 2 witches on rage from the bottom and they only broke into the bottom storage, after that they started going around and got picked off quickly. I have to say I think the failure was mostly due to a poor deployment of witches and rage. They even waited until most of the witches were gone to deploy their level 40 heroes, on the top for some reason. I think they would have gotten way further if they let the heroes tank, probably two stars.

Got 3 starred AGAIN by witches (with the aid of a couple golems and 5 spells)...

I'm seriously beginning to think there isn't much to be done against them, as long as the attacker knows what he/she is doing. I'm gonna just hope for some kind of balance change in the near future...

They are unbalanced since release so players without lvl5 dark barracks are forced to gem them. they will start to balance witches as soon the right amount of extra money has been earned. else they would have patched them a day after release as overpowered/game breaking they are

So far it seem to be hard to stop the troop of witches from destroying the base. I have seen quite a lot of raid from my clan members which have high trophy. Their base is strong but hardly can stop the troop of witches.

Seem like CoC is planing to come up with some defense against witches.

Try witches in your clan castle plus six archers....

seeing ur base makes me think i wil never get to master league as TH7 :(
