Farming options & opinions

My aim is to start making a dent in the tedious task of upgrading my walls ( only 12 level 10's ) as well as hero upgrading. (BK 20 / AQ 21) - im TH9

Im currently using an elixir heavy army that costs me 305500 which is pretty expensive, I constantly find myself depleting my elixir to gather DE.

Im finding this army pretty decent on getting me DE to upgrade my heroes and steadily raising my trophies, currently at 2450, but is really slow on the wall UG's.

However I have been thinking of using a different strategy and wanted to know opinions as both strategies would require a gain / loss of trophies.

Would I be best off pushing to champs and using a super heavy elixir dragon / lightning army and using the win bonus or dropping down and Barching. I'm worried the latter option will not yield a lot of DE.

Could I get your guys opinions, knowing how my logic both options will be wrong haha :-)

It's a while ago now, but I found my desire for DE (I mainly used a AQ Walk, wall breaker, archer combination), or just Barch if my Queen was down, effective for raiding DE, while at the same time gaining enough Gold and Elixir for my walls. In other words, upgrading walls was just a by product of DE raiding.

Oh, and I farmed mostly in Crystal 3.

I assume you're not hardcore war for the purpose of my response.

Your walls are fine and so are your heroes, you could farm more at th10 than you can at TH9.

The most efficient approach would be get to champs for the gems then drop back down again for farming (forget about walls for a couple of weeks max). I hate to say it but I would recommend gowipe all the way to champs. I did it recently and it didn't take long from gold to champs in 2 weeks. I stocked up on some elixir so I didn't need to care about profit and attacked th9's with good cup offers all the way.

Also, a good base so you can win cups on defence. Other TH9's often struggle against 🍩 donut bases, this helped me win cups on defence (cost me a few losses in gold/pink but not on DE)

I alternated between goblin knifing for de, put both heroes to sleep, then barched for 7 days for gold/lix while they slept. You can generally do 15-20 walls while the heroes nap. Once they are back up you can gob knife again for de to sleep them again... I did this in Crystal III/II mostly :thumbsup:

Mass dragons is great for DE collecting, of course it's heavy on elixir. I always had great success with QW with mass gobs and a few wall breakers. When queen was upgrading I mass gobbed with a few giants and wall breakers. A couple jumps and heals always got me to the core and I didn't have to sacrifice trophies if I didn't want to. Good luck.

Goblin Knife or some variant of it when AQ is upgrading.

AQ Walk with support army of your choice when she's not.

I agree with Klavious.

I use this kind of army while the AQ is not upgrading:
4 healers,
16 giants,
5 wizards,
64 archers.

Spells: 2 heal, 1 rage, 1 jump, 1 poison

With that combo, I usually get up till 2600 trophies.. Sometimes you don't need to use the spells.


At that point I should have get all the DE needed, so I start the upgrading (AQ or both AQ & BK).

So, while the AQ is upgrading, I use:
100 Goblins,
20 Archers,
16 Giants,
5 wizards

Note that in this case I don't use any spell and quite often I don't use all the troops (half of the time I launch only the goblins).

When I land on gold II, I usually have finished the AQ upgrading, so I start again with the other strategy.

^I usually bring 4 - 6 Wall Breakers but those are darn close to the comps I use too.

Goblin Knife is great for de, and it can also help with walls. There is nothing wrong with milking the occasional collector base that comes along. In the crystal range, there are enough milking opportunities to keep walls going a few at a time without dropping too many trophies.

Plus im loosing like 3k DE every raid :-(
