Progression Thread

Hiya all,

Great to see such steady progress everyone.

I've lost a little motivation this last week or so, still been playing but nowhere near as much - Despite this I've made decent progress and the Dragon event definitely helped.

My upgrades are pretty boring:
Cannon: 14 > 15: 2d 13h
Cannon: 14 > 15: 4d 12h
Cannon: 14 > 15: 6d
Cannon: 14 > 15: 8d 13h
1 Builder just finished and will get him down tonight.
Lab: Minions: 5>6: 6d 14h
Walls: 113. Made a heavy dent in these with the Dragon event.
Upgrades left to go: 17 Buildings/4 troops/ 11 spells.

Heading towards the end game but as feared leaving a few Lab items behind at TH10 has caught up with me. I'll be working on the lab long after i've done everything else (Until an update comes).

Ally, I've been thinking about the current state of the end game in CoC too and waiting for the next update they've been hinting about. I had been thinking of rushing a mini up to 11, but have not had the time to devote to that project yet. I keep reminding myself there needs to be a balance between wanting to get to 100% maxed and enjoying the process as well.

Wiz Tower: 7 > 8: 6h42min
Inferno Tower: 1 > 2: 23h45min
Bomb Tower: 2 > 3: 3d7h
Air Defense: 7 > 8: 5d23h
Tesla: 7 > 8: 9d8h

Plan after last Wiz Tower finishes is to put my other IT down to 2. After the first IT in ~24 hours I'll probably do a cheaper trap just to keep builders busy and build up the loot for next larger upgrade... probably another Tesla at that stage.

Lab - Wizards: 6 > 7: 3d15h. After this will likely put BD to Lv3.

My Current upgrade process. Had a very quiet weeked in terms of coc play time as i didnt want to push too much and also had my builders busy too.

Currently farming 34k de for AQ 43 tomorrow after the CG ends. Will use the BOH for the same. Currently plan is to do army camps and for defense all point def first. Starting with cannon then moving on to archer tower. Will use the gold rune for cc upg and eli rune for loons in lab.

Ally & Kaellin, Looking at your replies i kinda think i maxed TH10 and waited a bit longer was worth it. Mind you the end of TH10 was very sweet where in i could burn almost 4-5k de and smash bases and forget about all the de grind once the heroes are maxed.

Perhaps need strategic rushing is key to this game so that
a. you dont burn out from the game.
b. you have enough motivation to keep grinding resources.

Also playing in war is the icing on the cake which helps. I also feel the CG and books have brought new lease of life to COC and i like where its going. Longer wait time for builder, lab is both good and bad. Good that you can farm at your pace but bad to wait for them to finish if you are sitting on max resources.

However seeing all the books, i believe we are going to see Th12 content soon.

great point this. I've been playing for 2.5 years and i've never stopped, never had a break and always felt like I was maxing for the sake of maxing. Apart from odd spells here and there where i've done what I wanted rather than what I felt I needed to do my focus has been on becoming max and realistically for what. So SC can bring in TH12 and give me months and months more work.

Really struggling with motivation at the moment. I guess it's just a blip and i'll be back to full power shortly.

In the mean time - Used 3 builder potions from the clan games to save a day or so on my builders. Got my last cannon on and my first mortar on.

I've taken 1 break, for several months - but that was over a year ago. Since then I've started some minis, which I'm glad for since I have variety with the townhall levels I'm attacking with. I don't plan on pushing my current th9 past that, so I'll have eventually a maxed base to just practice different varieties with. I'll give progress for main base (kaeliin) and mini (echo) below.

Kaeliin:
Air Defense: 7 > 8: 23h28min
Inferno Tower: 1 > 2: 3d6h
Mortar: 7 > 8: 4d2h
Tesla: 7 > 8: 4d8h
Tesla: 7 > 8: 10d15h

3 mortars & 2 teslas left and everything will have been upgraded the first go 'round.
Lab: Wiz finished for 7 and I put Baby Drags in as planned going to Lv3 in 8d15h. Next will be giants since I plan on knocking out a few AQ levels next hopefully.

Echo:
On this base I have all my elixir troops maxed and just 1 level of poison, 2 levels of quake, 1 level of minion, 1 level of valk, and 2 levels of golem to go for a maxed lab.

Current upgrades are:
Tesla: 5 > 6: 6h23min
Tesla: 5 > 6: 20h11min
Mortar: 6 > 7: 2d8h
Bomb Tower: 1 > 2: 4d7h
Mortar: 6 > 7: 4d20h

I have left to upgrade: 2 mortars (1 level), both sweepers (1 level), both x-bows (1 level), 2 teslas (2 levels), 2 teslas (1 level), and some traps. BK is 15, AQ is 18, and I have 162 lv8 walls and 88 lv9 walls... so still a lot of work on royals and walls.

Ally and Kaellin, interesting replies from you 2. For me i was feeling the same with my main as the wait time between upgrades was too long and hence i started the mini. After my android device got broken i left the mini and worked on the main and re-started working on mini once supercell id was brought back in.

Having said that my main priority still remains the main. I farm more on main and ensure that my builders or lab are not free for even a minute. For my mini i just ensure that lab is not free but with builders i am flexible and dont mind even if more than 2 are free at times. 1 is purely kept for walls / heroes.

@Ally maybe try having a mini or participate in war. I feel that having Clan Games, BB and War there is enough to do even if you have 1 account. Also probably a break might do good too.

Have changed my plan to do witches to max next in the lab since they seem to be meta and i also use them more and having them max so early will help me in war attacks.

GW is currently at 8, BK at 41 and AQ at 43. Any BOH will be used for AQ till she is 45.

All new walls are lv 10 and 1 white wall. Just wanted a white wall in the base lol.

New X-bow and Eagle not installed yet. Next upgrades would be CC and i will use gold rune for that.

Before I started the clan I run now, I was the only active th9 in a small-ish clan of th8 and below. I stayed there a while since they were nice enough and warred constantly. I started my mini as a defenseless that I was going to rush to 9 and use for self-donations. That clan started to deteriorate, so I left and created CL and dropped all the defenses on Echo and started to max it. Like Nam3less, sometimes the builders had been free for long stretches, but recently I've been farming a lot more. I still use it to donate to myself. :smirk:

For me, having multiple townhall levels to play on help keep things interesting outside of war.

I've built all the new walls but they are mostly level 7 & 8 still. Plan going forward is that once the CC is done, that's all the 'essential' stuff finished so I will make a start on upgrading point defences. Next target for the lab is the hound.

Some good updates and some good words of advice.

Been working through the remaining defensive/lab upgrades, 3/4 Mortars are now on their way and the 4th will go on tonight. That will leave 2x2 upgrades of the Bomb Towers, 2x Leaf Blowers and then 4 Mortars (and one Gear up) before i'm finished.

Never touched that GoWiPe event at all, hoping for a cheap DE/Elixer based troop event such as Valks/Hogs/Bowlers Or Dragons/Baby Drags/Miners/Loons etc where I can make a deep dent into those walls.
