I got involved in this thread because I find that the topic of gems and the need to constantly discuss and slam the players who spend money on this game seems obsessive and it ends with people being disrespectful. No wonder there aren't more higher cup players talking on the forums.

If that was pompous I'm sorry it was not my intention. The only reason I mentioned my career was to explain to khan why I gem. I have not been playing long and I explained I'm not a major player but one who has limited time which is why I went down that route.
Once annoyed I fell into the trap that has been pointed out which is writing without reading. For that I am also apologetic.

About 10 of the top 25 players are in one of the top three clans. This instantly disproves your point, but it wouldn't even matter if they were all in top three clans. The cheapest army these players will use is probably some dragons+spells. Dragons are somewhere around 10 gems each to speed up. So assuming they use 100 gems per raid, which is probably much less than they actually use, the 10 players in bonbee could to 10 raids a week, 10 players in N44 could do 5 raids a week, and 10 players in borg could do three raids a week. They clearly do more than that, as the top players are getting 1-2 trophies a raid.
How do you know that? Anyway there is an interview with Jorge Yao (no. 1 on the leaderboard and no.1 clan) in the forums where he says he spent $2500-$3000 since he started playing in Oct 2012.Quote:
