TOP PLAYERS are just GEM Players?

People who are mentally sick and addicted to gambling will blow away thousands on a slot machine in an hour.

There are casinos and gambling venues who will exploit those people and their sickness.

I think gemmimg is just a variant of that mental sickness. Especially when you are spending so much on something that gives you no real gain over just playing without gems.

Its a pathological desire to advance your progress for no meaningful gain.

I think Supercells exploitation of these sick individuals is disturbing. Instead of curbing it they offer more and more opportunities for the sick people to spend money much like a casino exploiting addicted gamblers.

my thinking is that, there are people buying XBOX, PS3, PSP... so this is just the same... it's just not ending since when it updates, you need to buy more...

anyways, i'm not spending any cent here... just enjoying the game that is supported by top players... so... BIG THANKS to top players who gems... :)

There are people who think it is a waste of cash, for being online, or having a cell phone, cable T.V.

I apologise for the long verbose message but just thought you might like to hear the reason behind a gemmer.
I have joined N.Z Marines as they are teaching me a lot of in game mechanics and are helping to develop my deeper understanding. They know I gem and find it funny as I move up the internal clan rating. I joined them low at the bottom of their clan and in one week jumped to 13th an increase in 500 cups.
I won't ever be anywhere near you guys in level, skill or ability but I enjoy my short time trying to be up there with you for the shortest of rides. I envy the time you can dedicate to this game, you may envy the finances I invest. Swings and roundabouts as they say.
I hope this finds you well and one day soon I may be knocking on your well earned walls with a quick built gemmed army.

I'm sorry but if you eat a western diet you are then pathological due to excess salt and fat ingestion, don't let me start on smokers, alcohol drinkers, drug users, every person who buys a lottery ticket when they have restricted funds ...... By your standards they are all pathologically sick.
It's called commerce, someone who buys a very expensive car versus getting a free bus is not sick but he gets somewhere faster than the free bus ride, it's the journey not the destination.
And how do you assess other people's version of fulfilment.
I operate on serious traumatic injuries every day, if I find it calming/relaxing/entertaining then who are you to label my outlet as sick

I am not yet an extreme gemmer and will never be as I will not spend the time but I do have the resources.
I will gem until I'm bored.....can't see that for a while as I do enjoy clans.
I bought 6500 just to upgrade some bits before theatre. Lol small joys

Well I know the vicious rumour is that I am :) but as for the post written occulus I would argue quite passionately he is not.
I could put forward an argument about wether he is old enough to work/college/university
It always amazes me what is hidden behind a comment
Is it jealousy to berate someone else's ability to pay for something he can not afford :/ who knows, and personally I don't actually care.
My salary means after 12 years of hard study. A degree in medicine, surgery a masters degree in medical ethics and a doctorate I feel that if I want to waste some time and money on something I ENJOY then what right does he have to criticise.
I know he is generalising but that's the danger. One or two people ( doing the same here now lol) may be getting into debt to pay for gems. There will always be a fringe of extremists in any culture, but you can not tarnish everyone.

My extremely high taxation class probably pays his school fees also, or subsidises his free school dinners, I may even be paying his parents unemployment benefit through tax..... Should I all him sick and lazy. NOOOOO I don't mock his weakness (for those not sure this is sarcasm)

Whatever it takes for you to feel like you're having fun.
I prefer to take it easy and enjoy my base as it slowly involves into something special.

I've seen worse playing the game "Maplestory" I've watched friends buy themselves right out of cars, apartments and even a few that dropped out of college to play the game and pump money into being the absolute best.

Honestly though aside from the builders huts you don't really need to spend gems on anything and though you won't be able to get the heroes maxed or the walls you can still pretty much achieve what the top 50 players achieve in a relatively "short" period of time. Most people I know who stayed at TH 7/8 easily make 6 million gold/exilir in a few hours and keep their workers permanently busy. I haven't did the math but it doesn't seem like it would take more than a couple months.

I'm just glad because of these few "whales" the game will remain free and updating because at the end of the day for me it's all about how much fun I'm having.
