TH10 25/25 heroes to 40/40, need DE farming/protection advice

I believe for the 3 or so years I've been playing this game I've been doing things the hard way with low heroes relative to my bases weighting (a totally max TH10 with mixture of level 9/10 walls).

My current heroes are 25/25 and I feel I'm also really holding myself back in my war attacks with lesser hero levels and having to often attack max TH10's and the occasional TH11 hit.

So, I've finally decided to bite the bullet and do I what I hate most in this game...farming DE!

Need some advice on:

1. Is high gold/low crystal farming with cheap & quick elixir armies the way to go while simultaneously upgrading both heroes? (this is the end goal to get to 40/40 as quickly as possible), e.g. Barch? Goblin Knife? Mass baby drags? (about 2 weeks away from that upgrade)

2. A GOOD de protection base will be needed. Any suggestions? I'm leaking a lot of DE at the moment on my current design in Champs 2 & would like a reasonably reliable DE design given current metas/goblin knife

3. Is trying to farm both heroes simultaneously possible on only playing for a 1 hour boost per day? I work full-time and also study a couple hours per night after work!

Would love some help as I see others flying past me and would love to be able to do so much more offensively than my current lack of hero firepower. I appreciate any advice from others who have recently done similar...cheers!

Point 1 - I am currently at 1900 trophies, its okay, 2/3k DE per raid, easy to get with gobknife

Point 2 - An anti-funnel crow base with the DE centred is quite good, keep the TH out of it and people will generally go around it

Point 3 - It's possible yes, I make about 20k per day using the above two things, and that's maybe 5/6 raids a day.

What league are you in? If you get to Champion, a good idea is to farm to about Gold League 2. If you're in Crystal 3, or Gold 1, farm to Silver 2 or 1.

im a 9.5 with bk 25 and queen 33, i have 71 walls left to get to lv10.

1. yes crystal or gold league will help you a lot. Goblin knife is good, I prefer a queen walk to giant barch, with 8 wiz just to help out if needed

2. Look up "crow style bases" they work wonders down here as people seem to be really bad at attacking. They hardly ever get my DE, but do get everything else. Or maybe your base will start protecting your DE once you drop trophies.

3. Good luck with that, i'm putting my queen down until she reaches 40, then will start working on king again.

From my perspective if you have infernos built and you dump your other loot into walls you shouldn't get raided much if you drop to around crystal II. That's also a good league to farm DE. Only time I think you might be in danger is if you don't collect your drills for 12+hours. Sure you'll get hit occasionally but I find that even without infernos (I'm a 9.5 atm) I typically don't get hit if DE is my only decent offering.

I actually used the TH9 version of this base for WAR... It does a great job of protecting TH and DE... I tried it for my farming base and found that while it usually held raiders to 1 star, I was raided much more frequently and my other resources were hit. The farming base I reverted to was much weaker in my opinion but for what ever reason I was only attacked about once in 3 days. Crow is a very popular design that everyone is familiar with...

I'm on my second TH10 base now only cuz the first one I used was also very popular and IT got raided all the time. Just a caution on using the internet base designs... use them but be careful what you select.

I always get a chuckle reading these threads where the only people answering are people who haven't managed to get 40/40 yet....

At th10 by far one of the easiest ways to get dark is with Barch in the c2-c1 range, as for base design if your in the right leagues you will rarely get raided for it anyway but even if you do you should be pulling in far more than you can lose. My last maxing of heroes which was around March I was able to consistently gain 80-100k in 2 to 3 boosted Barch sessions as a complement to my normal raiding which allowed me to do both lab and hero work simultaneously from 30-40.....if you were to do 1 boost you could probably expect 30-40k per session.give or take depending on your timing.....one of the most important parts of Barching these areas is to find your sweet spot time zone within them....for me it was from about 4pm pacific to 7 pacific.

I think the inferno towers put them off a little, even as baby level 1s! I also have three bows set to ground, so nothing usually gets near the middle unless they're a bloody good hitter

Correct, however, this fellow clasher asked how to protect DE. Considering I've been TH10 for a couple of months and haven't put my heroes down in that time, I still feel qualified to answer how to protect his DE.

I didn't realize 40/40 heroes was the magical spot where one finally learns the best way to farm DE.

Many with 40/40 heroes don't even focus on DE anymore so it could be reasoned that the person asking the question would rather hear opinions from people who are currently farming their heroes as opposed to someone who finished them 6+ months ago under a different meta.
