I see what you are saying. It is getting increasingly difficult for low level troops to take out the new max drag. Once they do, they aren't left with enough troops to execute a decent attack.

OP is right and seems the replies so far missed the point. A lot of you use the argument that 'if everyone is overpowered, no one is' which is a really terrible way to do balancing. The feature encourages Lower THs to use CC troops as a crutch( mostly in regular multiplayer) instead of actually learning the game early on. In war, like OP mentioned, is just a pain to deal with, will constantly trip lot of newbies off-guard, and require them to bring counter CC(which isn't always available) otherwise they're toast.
This is also what causes Lower THs to have a hard time donating (usually end up with horrible donation ratios) because NOBODY would want their troops, and on a worse case, suggest to them (esp kids) a mindset that it's ok to leech.
