Yes, it is a trap which appears when the first troop runs over it and stays there till all of the housing space's used. It is glue. So it would be appropriate for it to retain its power untill all of its glue is used.

It is made up of glue. So unlike spring traps and bombs which go off and get diffused on the 1st contact, this will remain until all of its hold capacity has been utilised.

Then, do you have to wait with reloading till all of it is used? (possibly in several attacks) or can you reload it even if it has only had one troop walking over it?

Sorry for the late reply. Since it will be made out of elixer, it would be pink in colour. You can imagine a 2X2 pink square with gluey surface.
