I also agree with Wussypuss some shorter term options like Tom offers would also be a good idea, such as a 1 day or 5 day option.
Although overall disappointed if it's yet another Diamond only feature. High level players continue to accumulate far too many coins and vouchers they can never use...
Edit: Let's say the 50 Diamond cost for 2 weeks is true. It would be nice if there was an also an alternative payment option. Such as 50 Diamonds OR 50,000 coins.
And then for example a 3 day option costing 15 Diamonds OR 15 Green Vouchers.
There has to be some benefit for the never ending accumulation of coins & vouchers.
I won't be hiring them. I'll probably end up getting used to them by the time this trial is over, but they're a bit distracting and I can do all the farming work they're doing for me. I'll just keep using my diamonds to hire Thomas. :)

Provided i don't buy milk or sugar from Tom, but mostly mining tools and cheese etc.
As i see this, and see what Tom can buy, knowing that Rose and Ernst are only better for the time you can't fill the rows of the machines, if i choose to make cheese (what i can do at 12 o clock and when i stand up it's there) it won't have ANY advantage. Just if i choose to make creme (19 minutes) my row can stand 3 hours. 9 per night.
Earnest can make more cream in a night. If i take 8 hrs sleep, Earnest makes 5 hrs cream where i'm just sleeping.
So 7*3*5= 105 extra in a week compared with me.
Just asking when i will be making cheese and goat cheese...
Sugar same story. Just brown sugar giving a big advantage for Ernest.
IF i use Tom a complete week i have made (6x per day fetching things which could be more) almost 3x i get with Rose and Ernest without blocking or interfering my machines.
Economical Rose and Ernest are totally not interesting at costs mentioned above.. Certainly if they cost the same as Tom. 1 Diamond per day or 1 green voucher per day for the pair would be interesting.
Ow... 100 is the max. for me. Higher levels give higher maxes than 100. So that would be somewhat better. Still not good enough though.
Indeed Vfrood, surely they will be much cheaper than Tom. Or unlike Tom be paid with something other than Diamonds.
Tom increases your maximum output.
Rose/Ernest helps maintain your maximum output.
Big difference between the two, and that is not considering the at times inefficient way they create feed and fill our machines. Nor the fact you need to stop using them to do a feed derby task. I doubt we will get a pause for extra time for that either.
Very curious to see the actual price of these guys after the trial, even though I already see weaknesses it how they operate.
Lol. Tom doesn't need the machines at all, so all Tom does is profit you make. As i use Tom permanently using Tom for these purposes is much better for me. And then i'm forgetting the barn size (2450 right now) that maxes out too.
I can make enough dairy's and sugars to do my farming. When i have problems i can use Tom. (f.i. products for boat, either complete or just the ingredients) to add extra products. Normally i do Tom for mining, cheese and boats :)
I don't have a prediction for the cost of Rose and Ernest. However I predict that if SC makes money when players hire them, more helpers will probably be added to do other farm work such as harvesting crops, fishing, and filling other machines.
I predict high costs given the problems they have now. The less people use them the better :D LOL
Seriously i like the options but maxed out for less than 10 diamonds for both for a week or for vouchers only.
