Idea: how to stop Engineered Bases - progress percentage

Couldn't find if this was already discussed - but could SC implement something that limits Town Hall upgrades until you have a certain progress percentage was completed?

Example, cannot upgrade to TH9 until you have a TH8 with:
- 3 Lvl5 Wiz towers
- 5 lvl9 archer towers
- 5 lvl9 canons
- 3 lvl5 AD's
etc, for 80% TH8 max. once 80% progress hit, the upgrade TH button is unlocked.

You wouldnt have to be maxed, but a certain progress percentage has to be hit to unlock the TH upgrade option. Would have to grandfather a bunch of accounts, but the percentage complete could be used also to get Hero's to a certain level as well - limiting those already engineered bases from getting stronger until they upgrade defenses.

Thoughts?

I don't want to limit base building. I just want matchmaker to match them against each other.

Why would you want to remove a significant amount of the strategy from a STRATEGY GAME? How you progress is a big part of the strategy.

Terrible. Don't force me to build a way I don't wish to just because they have the MM wrong. Fix the MM.

However, the MM is not all that bad right now. We engineer and are getting fair wars.

Would be bad for the game to force players to drop certain items. And the grandfathering? Can you imagine the amount of complaining that would create?

Lot of people simply like rushing. If you restrict them they will give up which in turn affects SC. The real problem SC faces is determining between what is rushed and what is engineered. With 20 mil players in the game it is a challenge.

Matchmaking at the top of the map needs improvement. It will screw you much more than engineering can.

You would ruin this game for a lot of casuals that want to rush.

I think that would ruin the freedom of players on what they want to do with their bases. Better matchmaking would probably the best solution.

I think the best, and cleanest solution, is to just allow players to destroy/remove defenses. That way, anyone can engineer to their hearts content. It will create an even playing field as the real issue is "once you drop that xbow or IT or EA, there is no going back". By allowing folks to remove a defense, everyone will be able to engineer. And it will give supercell additional revenue as folks will eventually re-acquire those defenses (and likely gem)
