Do you think Hay Day is getting its first Pay-2-Win achievement?

New update for Hay Day is by the door.

So do you think Hay Day is getting its first Pay-2-Win achievement?

With the recent updates SuperCell's another game got its first p2w achievement.
(In short: A tournament feature has been added to clash royale. And clashers complete this new achievement by hosting tournaments. In order to complete final achievement you need to host 50 tournaments. And hosting 1 tournament does cost you 100 gems. So 5000 gems for the final achievement, which is equivalent of 1430 diamonds in Hay Day.)

The new Hay Day achievement in mind::smirk:
Use service of the new helpers for N number of times. And each service does cost you M number of diamonds. Let just assume they cost 1 diamond per service and you need to hire them 1000 times for the third achievement.

Well, if it is, that'll be the first Achievement I won't be 'counting' personally.

I hated the CL Derby Achievement. It's simply a 'hang in there' Achievement.
I hate the 'new' Neighbourhood Donation Achievement. It's so boring & clearly just trying to keep people playing.

If the new one is a blatant diamond grab it won't even feature on my radar!

Undecided, I think we might have to "pay" them food etc.

By paying food it may indirectly stimulate Tom sales, but I would be surprised if it's a direct Diamond cost for simple things like feeding animals and working dairy/sugar machines.

I have no inside information, so am posting my personal beliefs and opinions only.

I fully expect that we will have to pay Ernest and Rose in diamonds, in the same way that we have to pay for Tom's services in diamonds. Hay Day tends to follow certain internal rules and processes.

I would NOT expect that there would be an achievement tied to merely hiring Rose, Ernest, or Tom. What would the reward be? A refund if some small percentage of the diamonds spent to "earn" the achievement? That makes no sense to me as a player - why would I spend 1500 diamonds to get 30 back?

Maybe I'm missing something, but I have noticed that when I'm not playing, my need for sugar and butter drops to zero. And when I AM playing, I can keep up with what I need: "oh! There's some butters to pick up. Time to make cheese!" Or, "only 75 brown sugars left after making all those cookies. Let's bang in few in the queue." So for me personally, I'm not sure how Rose and Ernest will fit into MY way of playing the game. But we shall see - I'll give them a try I'm sure :)

I think Rose and Ernest are added as SC's final answer to a 3+ year plea from players for a 2nd dairy and sugar mill. Tom can't really address that shortage, because from what I have gathered, few players send Tom for basics. It would be interesting to see the data on Tom runs (if it exists): what are the most frequently sought items on Tom's errands?

It is very interesting to see how they work. From Rose's description I thought that she is there to make farming easier. Just a help so that you don't have to collect from the animals manually. But Ernest does sound like someone who will make you more sugar and dairy than you would be able to make yourself. And so you probably pay him diamonds. I'm not sure how I feel about that kind of addition. I like the challenge of trying to make my dairy products last and I haven't had any problem with sugar for a long time. I very rarely hire Tom to get me any products. I use him for saws and explosives mostly. But it is interesting to see how it works :)

So hoping Rose and Ernest need coins or vouchers not diamonds

Very underwhelmed by this update so far brings back memories of the useless edit mode update

My understanding is they will help you do what you can do for yourself already.

As such I don't know how it could justify a Diamond cost.

Tom costs Diamonds because he can get you surplus to your current maximum output.

My understanding these farmhands do not generate surplus goods; just collect your existing goods for you. Therefore help you maintain your existing maximum output.

So again as stated above, I would be very surprised if it costs Diamonds; unless they can increase your human player output.

Instead I expect a food, coin or voucher payment.

Edit: Maybe your all expecting the worst and hoping for the best as a defense mechanism. But from a business perspective I can't see it working any other way.

If we are to pay Diamonds for what we can do ourselves it would in my opinion be a nail in Hay Days coffin.

I voted undecided because I just don't know.

But, if they go this way, they should be as blatant about it as possible.

Like make the last achievement - "Bling! Bling!" aka "Give Us Your Money!" - spend 5, 25 and 150 euros/dollars/pounds/yuan on in-game currency. No need to be coy about it.

I think you are likely right here, and if they cost diamonds then to me it is worth it. I'd say there are two kinds of players that don't have dairy/sugar issues, and they are those who aren't playing much, and at the other end of the spectrum those who are playing by logging in repeatedly in a day (or even night - that 3 am Tom run!) specifically to tend those machines. I'm not in either of those groups, so to me a Rose and Ernest working the way we are conjecturing sounds a fine thing.

I rather doubt there will be an achievement associated with the feature if it works that way. And if there is a "Bling! Bling!" (AKA "I helped pay the funds for ongoing game development") achievement then I hope they acknowledge I earned it retrospectively over the past years!
