Why do the Superfarms never post?

I have been playing the game now for 2 and a half years and when I started the farm at the top of the leaderboard was approaching 200, now they are over 400.

In all that time I have never seen anyone with a farm over level 300 post or 250 for that matter? It could be that I have missed threads where any of these farms have been active so I am happy to be corrected and directed there.

Why do not post? - is it because they are all non English speakers or that they only speak robot language - the way their farms level up they can only do so if they play constantly 24/7 and have the £ or hack to obtain for unlimited diamonds. Would love to hear from a level 300+ farm owner that will explain their gameplay.......silence

I know quite a few of them. You are correct in thinking the issue is often weak English as a second (or third, fourth) language as a factor. Don't forget only a tiny proportion of players use the forums too, and that it's not uncommon to join here then mainly read rather than post. They come for things like update news, rather than to ask or answer questions or start posts, I would say. I'd say they're often pretty happy with how it is, rather than wanting to make change suggestions, and they know how it works, no not needing to ask questions or seek tips - two of the major drivers for posts. So I don't think it's odd that the highest game level ones I know here on the forum aren't in that very high level range, and almost none of the over 200s I know here actually post.

Yeah, I would also love to hear from their perspectives and learn about how they play Hay Day. Maybe there are secrets we don't know about competitive derbying or boating :D

Some do actually cut back on sleep in events, which is far more hardcore than I could ever be!

Hi Tom - I'll give you an example and let you ponder the maths

One farm going from level 403 to 404 in less than 48 hours - that's having to accumulate 3,930,00 XP - roughly 82,000 XP/hr or 1366XP/minute. And I'm being very conservative as it was less than 48hrs.

...And with only half the production machines running and animals unfed?!

Impossible without being a robot with unlimited diamonds.

Wish one one of these so called 'super-farmers would introduce us mere mortals to their world and answer the specific question without waffle.

I'm familiar with the maths. I think we both realise a few things that might be down to, which include various ways of playing which oughtn't be discussed on the forum, due to forum rules. Any particular farm of concern can be reported to Supercell in game, attaching evidence.

Going back to your original post topic, another factor strikes me. There's a good number of threads go up here with fun cameraderie around events, like what prizes forum people are getting at each point and how they are progressing to the goal. They're fun and meaningful for us, but someone catching say 10,000 lb fish or sending 1,000 boats on diamonds isn't likely to view those the way we do, as mutual involvement, comisserations, and encouragement. So I guess I mean in some ways they are playing very differently to us, which may create quite a gap in what is seen of interest or worth discussing.

My farm level is at 257 and boat leaderboard ranking no.37, hopefully it's still at no.37 as I have been having a HD pause for a while (Besta can correct this if I'm wrong :)).

Most of the high level players are non English speakers so it's not easy for them to join the forum as well as myself. I do come to read and sometimes wanted to make a comment but my poor English stopped me.

Most of high level players enjoy playing game with double XP, especially boats for fast leveling up and also for having fun with good friends/boat helpers. I would like to point out the way they play game :-
- Some players play boats 24/7 and how can they do that??? They let their good trustable friends to load their farms and play boats for them while they are offline/sleeping/work.
- They have one main farm and many baby farms (support farms) to produce more stuff. Some have 8-10 baby farms or even more. Myself, I have one main farm and 2 baby farms.
- They have many good friends who are willing to fill their boats plus many friends who supply stuff for them till their barns are empty.
- They let their machines stop working or let their animals hungry when they are playing boats because they are busy with transferring stuff from their baby farms or taking stuff from their friends' roadside shop.
And the last important thing is that they don't hack. They surely spend real money to purchase diamonds for having fun with friends. Don't you think it will be very easy for SC to spot them if they hack to obtain for unlimited diamonds. They don't take risk of losing their farms. Myself, I purchased a truck of diamonds once a month or 2 trucks when I really felt like playing boats.

Thanks p4pia. I always assumed most of the top players had others working their farms while they sleep, eat, work, etc. Wish I had started playing the game a few years earlier so I could be swimming with the big fish ☺

Hey is there really a prince who is addicted very much with this game and has hired people to play for him when he goes to sleep?? I heard this story from someone, dont remember who it is.

Hi Pia dear. Yes you are still 37th in the leaderboard. Holding firm. Thanks for posting. We all miss you and hope you are back soon.

I have wondered occasionally how some "top" players play, but I remember someone saying that some are family farms. More than one person in the household plays. That would make sense also. These top farms are amazing in what they can get done in a day or two. At my level if I move up one level in a week I am surprised at myself.

It isn't always about the diamonds. It's friends, family, nh helpers that are the backbone of this game. If you have a firm foundation and have developed game friendships you will of course move up faster.

Some players sent gifts to each other and some even flew to another country to meet in person.
For example, Murat, ranking no.2 in the leaderboard flew from Turkey to Thailand to meet Orawan,
ranking no.9 (hopefully I got her ranking right) and me flew from Thailand to Germany to meet
Birkan, my HD little brother and his wife.
Without friendship, I might quit HD a while a ago.

Thank you for posting Pia. It is interesting to read how those up the board play and think about the game.

I have a follow up question though (this might quickly turn into a AMA for you): how on earth are you always so fast to help? Are you constantly refreshing your help tab? I have had a number of top global leaders in my friends list over the years, yet you stand out as being by far the fastest to help as well as change your farm name to thank those who battle each other to try and help you. You usually succeed in beating out other players in hoods without the benefit of having the notification in chat to alert them.

I wanted to chime in and offer some info regarding sharing of accounts. You could lose control of your account and Support can't provide assistance if the account is found to be shared.

Does that even apply when family members share using one device and one account? Like, when I shared an account with my mum, could she have gotten in trouble for that?

Because I think that kind of sharing is what they're referring to here.

I've never really understood the problem with that. If you as the farm player are willing to lose your farm because you shared with someone you probably shouldn't have so what? I'm sure people who do so understand there is no support if they do lose their farm. And quite frankly what's the problem having the game on your phone and tablet, giving one of those devices to a friend or family to play while you sleep. Only one device can be played at the same time, right? It logs you out of the other device the second you open a farm on a new device. It is just semantics whether it is your device you give to the other player or your Facebook /GC login for them to use on their device. The limitations of multiple play at same time still exist.

Its really quite simple.
If you are willing to pass your device or any log ins to a friend, support is within their rights to refuse help should an account takeover or other problem occurs.
Same with using emulators on a computer to present you are on a mobile device.
Most of us players don't care less about " hackers" or those with enough money to buy almost unlimited diamonds: personally I am happy for those that do regularly buy huge diamond packs because they help fund development and server costs for the game.
My point is, and I'm relatively new here, the terms of service are plain and clear. We all clicked and agreed when we installed. Cheaters are in every game, mobile and PC, and in every walk of life. Let the psychic octopus slowly work its way through ....

Having said my last points, I want to add I regularly report obvious automated farms . I believe they ruin the inbuilt economy within the game, and also because of them some people are tempted and scammed out of money trying to buy tools or accounts etc.

I stand with you on this. To me it's not simply a breach of the terms of service that's the issue from our player point of view, it's the benefit of unearned progress, in this case an artificially inflated global boat rank for that account via account sharing.

Yes, a lot of money might be spend by legitimate channels by people doing this, but I'm guessing a fair amount of revenue is also lost when others see it and leave the boat ranking chase or the game from unhappiness at being overmatched by someone doing such things to secure advantage. To me, personally, there's not much difference between having other people play your account and having a machine do it, its just a different unethical path to unearned progress.

At my daughter's request, on many occasions I have filled a boat or machines for her while she has been at school and unable to do it herself. I've never felt like this has been unethical. I'm just helping out.

Oh no. I don't think Pia meant that at all. I do see your concern but I do believe the statement is referring to the same device in the same household. Perhaps roommates etc. there is also the fact that Hayday is played worldwide. This forum is read and posted from worldwide. Not everyone speaks, types or understands the English language in the same way. Subtle differences in the spoken word are misinterpreted in the written word. I would look at it from that perspective. IMHO

Hey, I think it's important to warn against sharing game accounts. There are some sophisticated players who do this knowing the risk (hopefully) and bearing this risk with open eyes. But there are a lot of lurkers and people maybe new to gaming who might get the impression that it's safe and routine to give your account info to someone else (outside your household) and let them play your game on another device. In my opinion, this should not be normalized. Having a few more goat cheese available when you log in isn't worth the risk.

I wasn't always this bitter and cynical. :smirk: I was once a bright young thing on the Internet, and one of my favorite things was to play flash games on various sites. You build a lot of close online friendships and eventually someone asks to share passwords. And because you've been besties with this stranger on the Internet for a whole week, and you're an inexperienced kid, you give the password trustingly.

And maybe your bestie doesn't do anything to your account, but to win favor with some other kids, she gives your password as an offering to these other kids. And then you're locked out of your game, and watch in horror, helpless, as your account is defaced. And you cry to your parents, and they tell you that this is good thing because you spend too much time on the computer anyway.

Anyway, people might get the impression that the top players - who succeed in the game - share their accounts, and this is a "strategy" they should emulate. Whether that actually happens, reading the thread: it's very easy to get that impression. So, people should know that they risk losing their whole game doing this and that Support won't do a thing to help them, and they probably won't make any global leaderboards to boot.

It's pretty simple. If you have gained an advantage not through YOUR OWN effort (and quite possibly sacrifice), then you've cheated. For the casual player, eg mom milking son's cows while he's at school, well that's frankly no big deal. It's still cheating, technically, but not with consequence really on other fellow players. However, during global events, or for boat leader board ranking? Most definitely a big deal. Huge deal. And frankly on a par with the use of bots. Period.
To put it another way: so yay, you're finally on the boat leaderboard...but hey, look at that, not all that effort was yours personally...
Obviously, for people to care would mean they put importance on personal achievement, through their own efforts...as opposed to an importance on a ranking that everyone can see...
I find it ridiculous that the concept of cheating, especially in the context of a game, is up for debate...
As an aside, using a bug in a computerized game to your advantage...in the purest sense, yes, it's technically cheating, as in cheating on the way the game was meant to be played and designed. Just like using a flaw in the game logic in a board game... However, just like mom milking cows, I'm not going to side-eye that the way I do outright, outside of the confines of the game, cheating. And I'll just leave that at that.

Spot on. I would be curious to see what the global boat leader board would look like if all the account sharing farms as well as the already banned farms were removed. I'm betting quite a few of the honest ones would suddenly jump up 30-50 places. And global event totals would look very different and bring new names into the top 20 places.
