The obelisk (defensive structure)

appearance: tall black tower with gold or emerald colored lines/hieroglyphs on it. Takes up a 2x2 space.

Effect: can do one of three things depending on what it is loaded with:

with gold: sends a shockwave throughout the base that slows the movement of all troops. Effect lasts for 3 seconds at lv 1. Fires every 10 seconds.

With elixir: sends a shockwave throughout the base that gives all buildings immunity to all damage for 3 seconds. Fires every 20 seconds.

With dark elixir: sends a shockwave throughout the base that does 20 points of damage to all units, then does lingering damage of 2.5% of troops maximum health per second for 10 seconds. Fires every 30 seconds.

Edit: adding loading costs at level 1 and level 2


Lv 1: 75,000 Gold/Elixir, 500 Dark Elixir
Lv 2: 100,000 Gold/Elixir, 600 Dark Elixir


At full ammunition, the Obelisk can be active for a total of 10 minutes.


I'd like to see if someone would be willing to make some edits to this for balance.

I think elixir one should be every 30sec and last one every 40sec.

Sounds good to me. Original too. Although I'm not a CoC genius so someone will probably come out and say something along the lines of, "Wut? 2.5% lingering damage? That's way too OP man!"

This is an original idea, and I love that. However most of these stats, dark elixir especially, have to be balanced so it isn't OP. Also, would it unlock the stronger buffs by upgrading it to level 2 and so on?

I think it would just go up to either 2 and the buffs would last longer.

An AoE defense would be unique and we don't have anything that uses gold yet, let alone all three. I would hope you could recover the resources if you wanted to change what the tower does. TH11 theme seems like it will be blue/electric, an energy field type defence might fit well.

Building immunity is too OP... As well as the DE one.. That would exactly mean that you will be immune to lower level troops.

Perhaps if the firing rate is increased?

and the linger effect is reduced to 5 seconds of lingering damage?

So far, based off of what has been said i am considering just having the Gold power one since a lot of people seem to agree that the Elixir and Dark Elixir ones are too powerful. And on top of that, we already have defensive towers that use Elixir and Dark Elixir, but no gold.

I personally see nothing wrong with the idea, seems awesome! Conceptually at least...

An idea, for people that think its OP for the DE loads: a reduced radius so it effects only a smaller percentage of troops at a time. The tower can be used to protect your splash towers from giants, PEKKA etc. as this tower will essentially be worthless against low-health units under the DE loading (it would in essence be a lumbering no-fire mortar to an archer, but devastating to tanking Giants and PEKKAs).

The building immunity/invincibility effect can also be swapped for a small building regeneration rate in its radius, slightly higher rate than a CC Healer would heal your buildings so its not worthless or OP.
