Question: EXACTLY how are the number of trophies to be won/lost calculated?

I kinda know how this is calculated, I know about what I will be offered based on my trophy difference to the person I am attacking, but this is a game, that formula should be coded somewhere for all you super H-A-C-Kers to find. So what is the EXACT calculation, not an approximate one, what is the formula? Has this been posted before? I did a search, but couldn't find, I'm expecting three kinds of answers:

1) Why didn't you search the forum ;) (I always expect this whenever I ask a question)
2) It is about 30 +/- how many above or below you are multiplied by a constant (no, I don't want approximate answers!!!)
3) the formula is: .... (this will make my day and cause you to be my friend for life)

I wish I could be your friend for life but this is the best reply I can come up (if I tried to do a formula my head would explode which really I don't want to happen) didn't expect that answer did you

I appreciate the bump but you could have waited till the thread was an hour or two old ;)

I'm actually planning on checking up on this when I finish my trophy push. No promises, but I think I can get pretty close.

I'm going to say something in advance, though. I suspect (key being suspect) that it is NOT based solely on trophies. I'm guessing it has a TH based compenent. I could be wrong, but I'll check up on this more in a week.

I've heard rumors that it is based on more ... unsettling things than just TH level, I am eagerly awaiting your discoveries.

When I did my end of TH8 cup run a couple weeks back, I always noticed that TH7s and bases with lower leveled defenses were worth less. I assume they could win more from me as I was a max TH8. This would also explain how Code Red maintains champoin league.

It could even be partially based off of levels, as crazy as it seems.

I look at the most knowledgeable thing about clash to wiki it says there is no hard and fast rule

Ummmhmmmm .... imagine the uproar if loot was based off levels! Why not the same uproar if trophies are ...

Potential factors include:

-trophy count (of course)
-TH level
-Player Level
-Defensive building levels, walls level, etc ...

I didn't want to suggest these but you kind folks have already suggested them so I am just repeating the list ;)

Honestly, I personally am not interested in the TH level factor (others probably are) because I only ever attack TH10, I am interested in the other factors, if they play a role in how many trophies are offered.

There is so much documentation and openness (from players and SC) on how loot is calculated, why not trophies as well?

There is a formula for it, there is no randomness involved, we just don't know the formula.

Jeff could you add defense levels to the list? It seemed as if it was factored when I did my last cup run. It would also explain how that Code Red guy maintains 3500 trophies-he is 3 starred for 5-10 trophies, and then he can attack people for 20+. The numbers I gave are probably off, but the concept is the same.
