Clarification on the Halloween update.

So a member of my neighborhood seems to think that the ghost on your fishing area can be claimed by a visitor and will then reset the time on its return for you as well. In essence she thinks someone is stealing the ghost in her fishing area from her. Can someone confirm or deny this? My understanding was that it worked more like the chests in that those chests were specifically for that individual player and had no connection to the farm owner. From what I've read it hangs out in the fishing area for an hour, if not claimed it disappears to return in 4 hours? If claimed it returns in 25 hours right? I have a strong feeling the ghost is also for that individual player whether or not it's on another's farm. But since my hoodie thinks they are getting stolen from her she is very upset and I'm hoping to get exact clarification to help her.

I believe the ghost is for your claiming only. I have only seen 1 ghost this year and I log on all the time

I usually see the ghost lots but this year sees a significant ghost shortage. Maybe it's a general issue this year rather than ghost theft ;)

The ghost does work like the treasure chest it's there for you to see / claim only. So others can't "steal" anyone else's ghost.

Im not sure on the timer specifics exactly but it sounds roughly correct.

Today I finally saw a ghost in my fishing area; it's only the second one so far. My timing must have been really bad this year!

I didn't tap it. Instead, I visited other farms. They all had a ghost in the same spot of the fishing area. Every time I returned to my farm my ghost was still there.

Eventually I tapped on one on someone else's farm, and got the gift (a screw). When I returned to my own fishing area the ghost had gone.

That seems to prove that the ghost was specific to me.

I agree with you wholeheartedly! Just not my year for ghost hunting I guess hahahah

I spotted my 2nd ghost today! 7pm BST I went to other farms (in DD & NH) and he was in every fishing area I visited (visible to just me I guess)

I think last year and maybe the year before it was every 25 hours after you tap it. It comes every four hours till you tap. Then 25 hrs after that.

I Google much...I saw the 25 hours thing on a few threads ,
Its my first Halloween in hay day, smacked the ghost three times, and wish I had noted the times.

I still have only found one ghost so far, pretty disappointing Halloween so far on Hay Day.

Keep looking for something that's almost never there.

I haven't seen the ghost for awhile. It doesn't come very often for me. :-(

i've only seen two so far, so my timing doesn't appear to be very good, either.
