It very well could help to add some Eagles and Infernos to bases in Cnaf's clan. The current problem they are encountering is the enemy clans consistently outgun them on the defensive side of the equation; the Demigod bases can be 3*d more easily than the enemy clans bases, putting cnaf's side at a disadvantage.
They're already pulling maxed out TH11s and TH10s, they can't pull any higher (TH12 hasn't come out yet), so making THEIR OWN bases harder to 3* could very well help them.
I disagree that the games a mess right now. My clans doesn't seem to be encountering this "strongly outgunned on the defensive side of the ledger" problem that others are having, but then again, we're not an engineered clan.
Furthermore, if one wants to be essentially immune to the whims and changes that routinely occur with clanwar matchmaking, one can always just build a balanced base that both attacks and defends at it's TH appropriate level.
Or, alternatively, one can just forego engineering altogether, build balanced bases, get matched against other balanced clans, and beat them by.. you know... actually being better at the attacking and defending part of the game than them. Just a thought

A valid concern to be sure, but I also wonder if balancing out your clan a bit such that half your roster isn't maxed offense 0.5s (e.g., 40/40/20 TH11's with 3 xbows and no EA, as well as 9.5s without infernos, etc.) could get you guys away from matchups that roster engineering entirely.
You guys certainly aren't engineered to the extent that Blombardo's clan is, or #6M, or the now defunct Winterfell Gods (strange how it only took the announcement of 14 day clan war bans for them to fold up, what a coincidence :smirk:), but your clan is decidedly non-balanced with such a reliance on 0.5s. Supercell seems to have targeted 0.5s with their most recent matchmaking changes, I doubt your clan satisfies the "balanced bases" checkbox criteria that goes into war matching, and likely leaves you far more open to getting heavily roster engineered clans as an opponent than say Skrags clan or my own.
I wouldn't expect you guys to start plopping all the defenses just yet, it's an irreversible experiment and therefore probably prudent to wait until more info has been gathered on the current matchmaking, but it's definitely a thought I've had when I see you post the breakdowns of your post-update war matches.

Not really. The changes to matchmaking and the game weren't all that awful to be honest; if it's squeezing clans like yours that's awesome and will please the vast majority of the player base.
And again, a clan doesn't HAVE to roster engineer to be successful. They can just simply stay balanced, not become overly reliant on engineered accounts and rosters, earn a mark in the "balanced bases" checkbox of matchmaking, and more often than not end up facing clans similar to their own..
