Yeah. Pretty safe to say at this point we have to go the roster engineering route and stick a bunch of low town halls at the bottom to get away from the 1-7 eagle ratio up top.

I have to say matchmaking now is pretty bad. Pre-October update our war matching was fairly even 90% of the time with most wars being decided by 1-2 stars. Post-October update every single war has been lopsided either in our favor or against. If it's in our favor the war is usually so lopsided the other clan quits and doesn't even attack. On the flip side wars not in our favor we get crushed by 9-10 stars. Either scenario is no fun for anyone.
We have no rushed bases or .5s in our lineup. Everything is balanced top to bottom. If we go into war slightly heavier up top it's lock we will have a bad match up. Coupled with the heavy learning curve with this last update its been quite demoralizing on our clan. I will keep tinkering with the lineups in the hope that we can get a more balanced war.

No that will not help...
Dont build eagles... Dont upgrade anything -- heck this whole game is a mess right now and needs fixed... anything we do to our accounts today- to try and' guess' the fix -- may end up hurting us a lot...
I've seen players with 15/15 heroes getting matched up against TH10 and 11's with MAX heroes... - They cant defend... -- if they built eagles and other heavy things -- and next week supercell fixes the matchmaking system...
How long will it take that 15/15 player go get up to 40/40/20 so that they can =properly - handle the eagles they will see in a correct war?
No... the solution is in supercells hands... Fix it.. while all us players just suffer...
Everything that follows is GUESSWORK - nothing more:
When they made miners -- they were great.. I rushed ALL my acounts to 10 - and got level 2 miners - and i was op in war... I was able to skip every other possible research and do miners and only miners (with spells) and win every time... -supercell obviously hated this fact and now -- miners are useless junk... The fact that I have them on all my accounts -- now - means that I get harder wars for having an 'end game troop' -- (a useless one) -- the fact that all the other research levels on my accounts are superficially LOW probably doesnt have much to do with anything... the simple facts according to the new matchmaking system is this
-clan has 20 accounts with MAX miners in it... so lets give them hard wars!!! max th9 and th0's with infernos all over the top...
(doesnt matter if those accoutns all have low/ or no defense.. doesnt matter if all other core research was skipped...) just matters that supercell tweaked some numbers - and messed everything up...
The miners were great for 6 months... then nerfed hard... -- Without supercell actually TELLNG us what they want this game to be like - without actual suggested upgrade paths -- the only thing you can tell any player is to follow a semi normal .5 upgrade path and cross your fingers. upgrade slow... and expect to never 3 star again because the game - in its current state (for th9 10 and 11) is too challenging for most.
The only solution for players in clans having a hard time on top -- is to bring in brand new day 1 town hall 3 normal players and stack your war with as many of them as you can find. They will cancel each other out - and bring the difficulty level on top down a bit to help compensate.
Doubtful. The fear then, and main reason I've always progressed every TH level with emphasis on offense maxing before defense maxing- is those 6 maxed TH11s would then pair against 10 or 11 on the other side.
Would be another example of roster engineering being the way to go. It's happened as a TH8, as a TH9, and now as a TH10. End up pairing with a clan that is heavier weighted overall than you in the top half of the map, and achieves that by lowering overall weight in the bottom portion.

And yes -- Roster engineering - MUST - be used by ALL clans now to try and remedy the awful changes to the game... Clans all across the board are all suffering now - not just a few....

Troop weight was NEVER, NEVER added to the war weight number you see on your base, period. You probably saw the weight go up when upgrading heroes(they are on defense also), or possibly from upgrading the barracks. But offensive weight is not represented and never has been represented in the DEFENSIVE war weight that you see on your base. The whole point of the war rankings is to see which base is hardest defensively, to help people figure out which bases they can attack. That is the reason for it being there. Otherwise you would have a jumble of bases and have to figure out which base was the strongest. It's purpose isn't to show you how much your base was adding to the war weight, that was just something people figured out and exploited.
You will just get a clan that has 5 TH3s also, with the same top bases lol. I have seen it just having practice wars in my clan now and my friends clan tried it and had the same thing happen, same maxed bases up top, with a bunch of TH3s at the bottom. Really just need to max your base out at this point it seems, on top of dropping the defenseless bases down low.
