The idea is ok but the player should be able to control the troop/racer. If not then what makes it challenging all u have to do is pick the fastest troop and u win. There could be a jump button and u have to click it at the right time to get over an object and if u dont jump over it u slow down. Also u can move left and right get out the way.
I was implying player control. If it wasn't player controlled there would be no point.
